Ian was Iron Man and everyone knew it. He lives his life how he wanted it and didn't take no as an answer. He learned from mistakes and he grew because of his failers. He almost died on multiple occasions, and that made him stronger. He never gave up and he was his own hero.

Mickey was Captain America and he was out of his time. He didn't know what was happening most of the time, the world, that was new to him, was much more complex then his. I mean he did sleep for 70 years. This was all new to him, so when he finds himself falling for a man, he ignored the felling, mostly because gays were frowned upon in his time.

Ian knew Mickey was struggling with something he just didn't know what. To be honest Ian only noticed it because Lip (hawkeye) pointed it out, he didn't really pay attention to Captain America all that much.

But as time flew by Mickey found himself noticing the little things about Ian, how he played with his hair when he was nervous, or how he drank a lot of coffee and barley ate any food, how he works until he passes out, that was a little thing but you get the point. No matter how big or small the thing is he noticed it.

Captain didn't know what to do, with Ian's teasing him(telling him he's a capsical, or that he had a little to much beauty sleep, etc). His crush had gotten a lot worse, he recently discovered that he indeed liked the other male and he hated himself for it. No matter what he did his mind was still stuck back in time.

Ian had noticed that Cap, as he liked to call Mickey/ Captain America, had recently started to, slowly might he add, hang out with him more and more. He also made the younger male, Ian/ Iron man, eat when he forgot to.

Missions were hard on Captain America, from the change in time period, came the new technology, that he didn't know how to use, he barley got by sometimes. Everyone noticed, and people did try to help but it was a struggle for everyone. Gallagher tech was the easiest for Mickey to understand, sense he was living with it( in the tower).

And one day Ian decided to take pitty on the poor soul, after a particular tech indicted mission, and he sat Mickey down on one of the many couches, in the 45th story living room, and taught him for hours that day on technology. This continued for a while until he was cought up but somehow during that time Ian noticed how the Captain looked. Ian didn't have a crush or anything but he would 100 percent bend the Captain over and bang him on the couch.

While this ( the teaching) was going one, Mickey found it a lot harder to focus on learning every thing, because he focused on Ian a lot more. He would sometimes space out due to him thinking about how close he was to the young male hero.

After a while, Ian's attraction to Mickey slipped away. It wasn't because he was unattractive, no no no, it was because he had so much work to do, he had just found out about this kid, who was trying to become a hero.

That's why Ian had slowly slipped away from Cap, but Captain America was also to blame. The older male hero also had work to do and he slowly stopped seeing Ian, not all together because they still had missions to go one but besides that they don't get to talk or see each other really and that was depressing for Mickey, as his feeling didn't go away.

Finally, after what felt like forever, Captain America and Iron man had at least a weekend off. After hearing this news Captain had made plans to stop by Ian's work lab, and let me tell you, he was highly confused on why there was a teenage boy in the lab with Ian.

He didn't want to disturb them so he just left, he was confused and he wanted answers. So he decided to go get food for all three of them, as he knows Ian hasn't eaten if he's in his lab. Cap decided to get all of them shawarma. It took about an hour to get it, but it was worth it when he got to hang out with Ian.

When Cap got back to the lab, he walked in and saw that the kid, he was a teenager but same difference you know, was still there. Once the kid had spotted him, he got all exited blabbering about how his was Captain America. He chuckled and told him to calm down.

Ian had then asked him what he was doing i his lab, Captain had then responded with shawarma and Mickey would tell you Ian's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. That had also made the 1 hour wait worth it too. They had all talked and had fun.

This became a tradition to all of them, when ever they had time off and Ian wasn't gonna lie and say he wasn't falling in love with the older man because he was. Just seeing him interact with Carl was just wow, he could barley describe it.

Carl had seen the way they looked at each other and he wanted both of them to be happy with each other. So he made a plan.... But sadly it didn't work so he had to sit back and watch everything play out, naturally.

It look about one more year for Ian to finally confess to Mickey. Of course he was a nervous mess, thinking Mickey didn't like him like that, but he was wrong and Mickey had kissed him right after he confessed. They started dating of course, and they all but adopted Carl as their own child. So over all they are living the good life.
