WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO GET MY ONE-SHOT PUBLISHED?

ONE ;; PLOT.

;; There is a beginning, a middle (climax), and an end.
;; The story should be well-paced — not too fast, not too slow.
;; The story feels complete, even if the ending is open-ended.

TWO ;; GRAMMAR.

;; The basic standards (punctuation, complete sentences, dialogue, etc.) are well-executed.
;; There is good sentence structure + flow (no choppiness).
;; There is sentence diversity + some form of complexity.

THREE ;; WRITING STYLE.

;; There are vivid imagery and excellent descriptions.
;; The writing is concise and clear (no wordiness).
;; The writing matches the given genre.

FOUR ;; CREATIVITY.

;; There is a unique interpretation of the prompt.
;; The story is out-of-the-box and refreshing to read.
;; The story lacks clichés and if there are any, they are reproduced in an original way.

FIVE ;; EFFORT.

;; The writing clearly shows the effort of the author.
;; Each word has a purpose in the story.

It is not here to question your own writing or discourage you! It's okay if you don't meet all of these points. No one does. This is just to increase transparency between participants and admins, and to let everyone know what we, along with many other readers, look for in a one-shot so you have a general direction. 

WE DO NOT EXPECT A PERFECT ONE-SHOT, THOUGH PERFECTION IS WHAT WE STRIVE FOR! :)
