"I understand that you think it's a horrible idea but I need this" I say trying to explain myself "it would be safer for the baby if I was away for a while and after the announcement who could blame me?"

"I just need time can you understand that?" I reason with him but it was no use, he wouldn't respond.

"Alessandro say something" I say slowly waiting for his reaction. 

He shrugs "when do we leave?"

I sigh "you have to stay here and rule while I'm gone" I take his hand in mine "it will be fine"

He smiles "like I said when do we leave?"

I had been at this for hours, trying to convince Alessandro to stay behind. He was stubborn and refused to accept his role in all of this.

"You're not going anywhere!" I yell at him "you're staying right here"

He shrugs, his demeanor unchanged "like I said when are we leaving? I'm not letting you go alone and I'm definitely not staying here without you"

"There is no law that says a husband can't follow his wife" He wraps his arms around my waist "we can handle things from a different location..together."

"But the council" I start but mumble the rest.

Alessandro smirks "are you the queen or are they?"

He was right but we would have to do this the smart way. If not Rizzo can take control of my council and my kingdom.

"We can look for the codex in the meantime" Alessandro says reading my mind. "Maybe you'll be able to trust me again"

His words tug at my heart "I want that room demolished and redesigned so I don't recognize it" he nods "I hate it"

He sighs "I know Madeline but you can't just break the house down and rebuild it"

I raise an eyebrow at him "now that's an idea"

He chuckles and pulls me closer "I love you" Alessandro buries his face in my neck, kissing my shoulder "anything you want"

I smile and leave the room with Alessandro at my side, ready to address the council.

After an hour, everyone was very happy with their assignments and the chance to prove themselves as individuals. I instructed Luke to have Abigail design the new room after construction and prayed she would have good taste.

Everything was packed and planned, we would leave after the announcement of the baby but there was one person who just wouldn't let me leave. Amodio.

"Are you crazy?!" He yells at Alessandro "you plan to take my daughter away from the safest place in the world?!"

He turns to me "who said you could marry him again?!"

Alessandro laughs "she wants to leave, I'm just extra protection and company..trust me she was ready to leave me here."

"You can't leave!" Amodio says clearly angry with my decision "how can I protect you if you go?"

I smile "don't worry, Alessandro will protect me" I gulp "plus we're taking a lot of men with us..I'll be safe I promise"

He sighs "What am I to do about you?"

I shrug "let me make my own decisions..go home Amodio I'm sure Johnathan would love to see you"

He nods and gently puts his arms around me, his hug loose but impactful. He kisses the top of my head and holds me a bit tighter.

"I missed so much of your life" he gulps "I don't want to miss anymore of it and neither should you..go somewhere sandy"
