"You know my study is off limits! Especially this book!" He reached inside and pulled out the sticky note almost staring at it in disbelief and then at me. I gulped and watched Alessandro cross his arms and stand by the door watching the one-sided argument.

"Vicente! I want you to keep my daughter safe and away from my study! Clearly she needs a babysitter while I'm away" he stared at me coldly as he left the room, book in hand.
I rose from the bed and took the bottle of scotch with me. I moved past Alessandro with ease, and moved towards my father's study. He was undoubtedly inside replacing the book on its shelf.
"I thought I told yo-"
"NO! I have had enough of these one sided conversations about my mother! She didn't hurt you, torture you, lock you in freezers for hours at a time! So don't you ever tell me I would want to read about it. Maybe you should check who you leave in the house instead of accusing your daughter" I took a big gulp from the bottle and left the room sensing a look of awe from my father and a cold one from Alessandro.

The garage was filled with cars. All different kinds and I could have any I wanted.
"Anyone you want sweetheart" I jumped and moved towards the 1967 impala done beautifully in black paint with matching leather seats.
"I want this one!" I look towards the car and watch it deteriorate and break down, smoke and bullet holes everywhere. I scream as my father melted away and the sky darkened and the house and garage disappeared and all that was left was a daunting and familiar laugh echoing in my head.

"Damn it! Get up!" I shot up and watched Alessandro with his bucket of cold water ready to spill it on top of my sleeping figure. I raised an eyebrow as the water slipped from the bucket and I jolted up in terror. I screamed and watched him laugh until he saw my face.
Alessandro ran as I filled a bucket with cold water and chased after him. He hid but within ten minutes I found him  and dumped the bucket over his head, watching his entire suit soak through. I covered my gaping mouth and stepped away slowly.

To my surprised he started to laugh. He laughed for a minute then straightened his suit and walked up the stairs laughing. I suddenly got the creeps and went to my room to change into black jeans with a burgundy leather jacket. Grabbing my booties I ran down the steps and braided my bangs back.

At the bottom of the steps stood Alessandro in a freshly pressed suit and his hands behind his back. He smiled menacingly. I looked to his arms crossed behind his back, he must have had something in my hands.

"Your father has left once again" I gulped and became suddenly nervous. "He has instructed me to plan a gala here for next week. The theme is to be mascaraed. Will you like to help?" He smiled as I raised an eyebrow.

"Um..I guess."
He reveled a clipboard and pen from behind his back and instructed me to follow him. I followed him to the open field in front of the house.
"We will do it out here. What do you think?" I took a few steps back and expected something other than a friendly question.
"What's the catch?" He nodded then smiled again.

" you must accompany me to the gala" I raised an eyebrow and was surprised by his sudden request. I thought it over and figured the other option was much much worse.
I nodded and took the clipboard from his hand.

"What are you-" I shushed him and used the pen to sketch the yard and the tent that we would put and the tables.

"It pays to plan ahead" I gave him a cheeky smile and began the planning part of the gala while he made a phone call. I knew I would do all the work in the end.
I later found out that the night of the gala was Alessandro's last night visiting my father. I began to plan with heart and was excited for the gala/ farewell party.

I smiled cheekily and pulled out my phone to make an important phone call.
