Hey guys! I'm back! So, first off I would like to thank those who have fanned and/or commented. I love the support. So, that's out of the way. I hope you guys like chapter two of the Blind Side...
Maelie POV
"Maelie! Get up here! You're going to be late!" Mom called down the stairs. It echoed through the large basement hallway. I ran up the steps, dragging my homework filled backpack with me. "I'm here mom. It's okay." I looked over at the time. 7:54. Damn it! "Mom? Can you drive me?" I asked, pulling on my boots. "Sure hon, but we've gotta go, now!" I picked up my backpack and flung it over my shoulder. "See ya Drew!" I called into the house. I shut the bright red door behind me and ran down the steps to the waiting car...
Okay. So today, I had a completely different schedule.Today I had Calculus, History, Art, and Music. I wondered into Mr. Humphery's Calculus class. The room was half full with students (mostly nerdy looking ones). I pushed my glasses up and walked to an empty seat in the back. One of the guys there stared at me. I squirmed uncomfortably in my seat. "Good morning class!" Mr. Humphery announced walking in just as the bell rang. He placed his briefcase on the desk. Hr looked at us. "I said. 'Good morning class!'" That woke most people up. "Good morning Mr. Humphery." "Let's start the lesson, shall we?"
The lesson was easy, Accumulation Functions. Every question he asked, my hand shot up. What? Math's awesome! The bell soon rang and I packed up my binder. "Hey," I heard behind me. I looked over my shoulder to find the blonde guy from beside me. "Can I help you?" I asked, picking up my heavy duty binder. "I was wondering, maybe you would like to go out sometime?" "I don't even know you!" I exclaimed, walking out of the classroom. He followed me. "You can get to know me! Isn't that what the first date is?" "Not for you." He kept following me, asking odd questions, that I really wasn't comfortable with. You get my drift. I couldn't be rude and tell him to go, right? It was my second day here. "Hey Alex, back off!" I heard a familiar voice cry. I looked over my shoulder to see Josh. "Ramsay! Why is it every time I try to get a girl, you come in and save them, hmm?" Alex demanded, switching his gaze between me and Josh. "Because you always lay them." "And so... You actually care about this chick? She should be thankful that someone wants to. At the popularity rate she's going, I doubt anyone else will." I stared. Am I already that low on the scale? I turned around and started walking down the almost empty halls. I heard Josh's shoes squeak against the floor. "Don't," I heard Alex say, "She's not worth it." I opened my locker and shoved my binder in. I grabbed another one and headed down to History, not daring once to look back.
After History was lunch. I shoved my binder inside my locker and went to the cafeteria. I bought lunch from the cafeteria, a salmon sandwich. I sat on my own in the table by the corner, away from everyone. Everyone had friends, people to talk to. I played around with the bread on my plate. I let my hair down from it's ponytail and let it fall past my shoulders. The scent of fresh shampoo graced my nose. I checked my phone for the time, 12:14. I also saw that my friend, Alicia, had texted me. I opened it.
/Hey hey Mae! Sup? - Ali/
I quickly texted back.
/I have no friends whatsoever in this school. Except one guy, but he might just want to get into my pants - Mae/
I closed my phone and looked at my food. I barely touched it. I picked up the Styrofoam plate and shoved it in the garbage. I walked out of the cafeteria, my stomach growling more than ever. I ignored it and went back to my locker.
Art was... entertaining. It was one of the three subjects that I would die for. And what was awesome too, was that the second one, Music, was right after! I walked into the music classroom and sat again far from everyone. I didn't want another encounter with Alex and/or Josh. Just to be safe. I'm keeping my v-card... Our music teacher, Mrs. Daniels walked into the room. She looked strict, but you really couldn't be strict with music. "Okay class. I hope you have prepared for your presentations!" What presentations? I looked around. I'm hoping that I'm not going first 'cause I have no clue what to do. "Jacqueline Herington?"
