Three weeks after the Snap, Tony, with Nebula used the the Guardians of the Galaxy's ship the Benatar to get off Titan. The Benatar ran of power and quickly began running out of air due to the damage caused by the Battle of Titan, which Tony and Nebula attempted to fix but the ship ended up drifting in space.

That night, Stark and Nebula played a few rounds of Table Football in the bridge of the Benatar. Stark taught Nebula on how to play, which he and Nebula continued until Nebula eventually wins. Stark showed respect to Nebula with a handshake which Nebula returned. Tony went to the front of the Benatar to record a message to Pepper Potts, using his helmet from the Battle of Titan. He tells her that the oxygen will run out tomorrow morning, and that he hoped to pull off one last surprise before finishing the recording. Stark drifted off to sleep, and Nebula put him in the captain's chair.

Stark suddenly awoke due to a beaming light outside the Benatar. The glowing settled, and Carol Danvers revealed herself to be the savior. Danvers subsequently carried the Benatar back to Earth, where Tony would be helped out by Nebula and Steve Rogers. An emotional Stark tells Rogers that he was unable to stop Thanos, and that he lost Peter Parker in the process. He is then greeted by an overwhelmed Pepper Potts.

At the New Avengers Facility, the remaining Avengers conversed about the possible location of Thanos. When Rogers asked Stark if he had any indications of where Thanos could be, Stark erupted and told Rogers that he had no information. Stark then confronted Rogers, explaining that his attempt to build a suit of armor around the world was to prevent the very situation they were in, and that because of the events of the Avengers Civil War, he lost without the aid of Rogers, despite Rogers saying in 2015 that if they lost, they would lose together. The exhaustion and overall unhealthiness of Tony overcomes him, and he faints. A sedative is given to Stark, so that he can rest and heal due to his long duration in space. While Stark is resting, the remaining Avengers find Thanos, only to realize the Infinity Stones had been destroyed. An angered Thor decapitates Thanos.
