Chapter 4

Raven POV

"Fuck." I mumble as I felt my insides twist again, we had just left Luffy and his crew giving him our vibra cards a few days ago and now I wake up feeling like puking my guts out, it's been 3 days straight like this.

"You ok?" Ace sleepy voice said as I nodded slowly before I felt another wave coming.

"Hey!" He said holding my hair away and rubbing my back smoothly.

"We should get you to a doctor, this isn't normal for you." He said worried, he wasn't wrong. I never puke unless it's something really serious like that time I was out of commission for a month.

"I know.. but we need to find Blackbeard." I say and he shakes his head.

"Your health goes above everything for me, do you understand that?" He says making me sigh and lean my forehead on his chest.

"Ok." I mumble as he helps me get up.

"Let's go." He says after I've brushed my teeth and we walked around looking for a doctor until finally we found one. We explained what had happened and they checked me, we waited for a while before they came back with the results.

"Congratulations, it seems you're going to be a mother." I blinked at the words. A.. mother? That can't be right.

"I.. thought you were on the pill." Ace said looking at me as I just stand there shocked.

"I am." I mumble.

"The pill isn't always a 100% efficient and some of them don't even have any effect at all on certain people." The doctor said with a slight bow before walking away as I just stud there stunned.. I'm pregnant?

"Well this wasn't in the plans.." Ace says as I look at him and he suddenly widen his eyes placing his hand on my cheek.

"Hey, why are you crying?" He asked looking into my eyes.

"I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry." I say as he pulls me to his chest.

"Hey, it's fine. This wasn't your fault.. sure it puts a bit of a dent in our plans but it's nothing we can't handle. That being said you are returning to pop's ship immediately. I don't want anything to happen to either you nor this baby you understand that?" He ordered making me hug him tightly.

"But Ace-" I was cut off.

"No but's.. I promise I'll come back to the two of you." He says giving me a smile and kissing my lips sweetly.

"Ok... I love you." I say making him chuckle and kiss my head.

"I love you more." He says kissing me again making the usual butterflies and electric sensation come back as I dig my hands in his hair before slowly pulling away.

"Promise me you'll be careful." I say placing my forehead against his.

"Of course." He says hugging me tight.

"Now you be careful on your way back, you're not alone anymore." He says with a cheeky smile getting down on one knee rubbing his nose against my stomach and kissing it making me shiver at the action.

"I'll see you soon little guy." He says making me chuckle.

"And you too." He says kissing me once more. Now that I think about it this is going to be the longest time we won't be together.

"See you later." I say not wanting to say goodbye making him smile.

"See you later." He says.

~Time Skip~

"Raven you're back... where's Ace?" Marco asked as he saw me, it had been a few days since I had left Ace and something in me didn't feel right, I don't know if it's because I'm away from him or because something's happening.

"I need to speak to pops." I say and Marco quickly read my face and lead me towards pop's room where he was. When we heard the come in I stepped inside closing the door behind me.

"Raven my dear! You came back, where's Ace?" He asked and it's an understandable question ever since he met us we've never been apart but this was different.

"He's still after Blackbeard.. I had to turn back." I say causing his eyebrow to lift as he looks at me waiting for me to continue as I smile a little placing a hand on my stomach while looking at it.

"Turns out I'm going to be a mom." I say looking up at him and a big grin spread on his lips.

"You're the first person I wanted to tell, Ace already knows seeing as he's the one that send me back here but.. I.. I know this sounds weird but there's just something telling me that something's wrong and I don't know what." I finished looking down at my stomach again.

"You've never been away from him for this long my dear, I'm sure you just miss him." He says as I sigh and nod giving him a smile.

"Thanks pop's." I say.

"There's no need to thank me, congratulations on the new baby." He says making me chuckle and nod.

"This is going to be our pride and joy." I say rubbing my stomach before looking at him again.

"And I think Ace would agree with me on naming the baby Portgas D. Edward if it's a boy." I say giving him a smile to which he returned.

"I'd be honored." He says placing his giant hand on my stomach.

"I know this baby will mean a lot to you, it'll be your grandson or granddaughter after all." I say smirking at him making him laugh whole heartily.

"You're right on that." The way his eyes shone made me warm inside, he's happy and that's all that matters for me.

"Hey pops." I say causing him to look up from my stomach to me.

"Thank you for everything, you became the father neither me nor Ace ever had and who knows where we would've end up if it wasn't for you.. so thank you. And no this isn't a goodbye, I just felt like I needed to tell you that." I say smiling at him before he placed his hand on my head petting it.
