Tennis terms you might wanna know before going in! If you already know, carry on to the story!
Ace - A serve that lands inside the lines and is untouched by the opponent.
Advantage - The point that follows a deuce score. If the player wins this point he wins the game, otherwise it goes back to deuce!
Deuce - An expression that is used when the actual score is 40-40.
Doubles - 2 on 2 match
Rally - back and forth shots between players
Return Ace - The opponent returns the serve and scores.
Singles - 1 on 1 match
Scores work like this: 15 > 30 > 40 (basically 1 > 2 > 3) when they score once. If they get a score when they have 40 they win that game. If both teams have 40 they need two points in succession to win that game.
One person serves until the game has been one. After each serve they switch between left and right sides. For doubles that means they alternate who receives the serve.
I hope this helped! If it didn't, and you had to look it up anyway I'm sorry TT Visuals will help if you don't understand my explanations so I suggest that.

The tennis court was dead silent. The audience held their breath in anticipation of the next serve. Ryujin had the advantage and if she scored she won the best of three. There was a droplet of sweat gliding down her jawline. She took a deep breath and tossed the ball up and hit it hard. The ball crossed the net landing on the other side however the ball went a little too fast for her opponent to receive it. She got the game winning ace.
The court erupted cheering on Ryujin and chanting her name. She was obviously the favorite going in yet she didn't seem to care. She grabbed her water and drank it as she was exiting, paying no attention to her fans or anyone else on the court. Her coach, Coach Son, was standing in her path clapping.
"Congratulations!" She said with a big smile.
Ryujin slightly rolled her eyes. "Was there any doubt? I always win."
Ryujin continued to walk to sit down and put her racket away. However, there was a faint disgusted look on Coach Son after hearing Ryujin's words. She was appalled, she seemed extremely irritated. That match was closer than she'd want it to be. Both sides had 1 game under their belt and it went to a game 3 which also had a deuce. The coach was disappointed in Ryujin's attitude because that game could have gone either way. She took another glance at Ryujin with a slight frown and then sighed.
She put her negative thoughts away as the next singles match was about to start. This was one of the bigger tournaments. Instead of it being two teams playing multiple matches of singles and doubles, there were 8 other teams here participating. It was a mid-season tournament that held no rankings for the actual season. It was more so for fun and testing.
The announcer asked to the court "Shin Yuna". All the teams were silent because, like Ryujin, she was one of the best. For the record, Ryujin and Yuna have an even record of 20-20. Sometimes they would beat each other out for a good few games but eventually they'd always tie. Unfortunately, they weren't up against each other so there wasn't as much hype as there could have been. Yuna's opponent didn't have much a reputation and seemed extremely nervous as seen from her wobbly legs.
Yuna's coach wished, "Good luck."
Yuna responded, "Don't need it Coach Chou."
Yuna was out on the court with a serious look on her face. Her eyes were fierce and sized up her opponent. She took a deep sigh and rolled her eyes, clearly disappointed by her competition.
