Trust can be a difficult thing to give to others, especially after it's been broken. Trust is fragile. It's easy to manipulate, it's easy to hide, and it's easy to fake it. One of the cruelest parts about breaking trust, is building yourself back up from the one you trusted the most.

The sunlight peeked between the slips of the drapes onto the bed shining on a sleeping figure. The girl, Ryujin, woke to the beams of light hitting her eyes and groaned.

"My alarm isn't even on and I woke up earlier!" Ryujin rubbed her eyes awake.

She picked up her phone and scrolled through her timelines. Ryujin was endlessly scrolling through her socials until she stuttered at a picture. It was a picture of her close friend, Yeji, and her.

All could Ryujin think was an endless sea of questions

All could Ryujin think was an endless sea of questions. She had so many questions but not enough answers. It felt like ocean waves dropping off messages in a bottle without any words. Ryujin simply felt empty and lost. She did know one thing though, the question she wanted the answer to the most was, why?

Why? Why did it have to happen? Why now and not earlier? Why did you make that choice? Just... why?

Ryujin's thoughts came to a halt to prevent herself from crying. She wasn't in the mood to cry nor think about it any longer. She decided to get up from her bed and start her "amazing" day. She stretched her body trying to get her body physically ready for the oh-so-great rest of the day she had.

Mid-stretch her mother called out to her asking her to come downstairs cause someone was here to visit. Ryujin thought the worse thinking it was Yeji coming to apologize or see her for something. Ryujin was scattered trying to think of a reason as to why she can't come down.

"Uhhh, I have a fever! Tell them-- I'm really sick!" Ryujin coughed but it wasn't a convincing one. Ryujin could imagine her mom rolling her eyes.

Her mom cuffed her hands around her mouth. "It's Yuna, dear!"

What? Yuna is here? Wasn't she overseas?

Ryujin primped herself a bit to make herself a little more presentable and went downstairs. She was walking down the steps slowly peering out at Yuna and her mother chit chatting. Yuna took notice, smiled and waved at Ryujin.

Her mother spoke out, "I haven't seen this one in a while."

"I could say the same." Ryujin added.

Ryujin and Yuna were staring at each other taking in what they haven't seen for years. Her mom noticed looking at each one of them back and forth. "Okay, well, I guess I'll leave you two girls to it." Ryujin's mom held Yuna's shoulder, "There's food on the table, help yourself if you get hungry." Yuna nodded in reply.

The girls went up to Ryujin's room to hang out. Ryujin sat on her bed clutching a pillow while Yuna sat on the other end with her feet hanging over the edge.
