"...What are you doing?" Izaya asked, looking at Makiko as she was looking at her phone with an incrediably irritated and confused facial expression.
She looked over at him deadpanned.
"Job." She said blankly before looking back at her phone in her hand.
She was currently sitting on Izaya's couch, eyes glued to her phone, while Izaya was working on his computer.
"Ugh, it's so complicated. Why can't I just talk to a person? Why does it have to be all online? Just let me talk to someone!" She ranted.
Izaya raised an eyebrow.
"...I'm okay with letting you live here. You don't have to get a job you know? I'm not going to kick you out." Izaya said slowly.
"...but I want to have one. I feel guilty using your money. Besides, it would be smart to go out and start learning more about my area." Makiko said, looking over at him.
Izaya smiled.
Smart girl with a pure heart. You don't change much do you Makiko?
Makiko spent another half hour working and going through so many pages through the web, before she widened her eyes in shock.
"Did I just....?" Makiko said suddenly before looking at Izaya again, with a large smile on her face.
"I think I....submitted an application....successfully?" Makiko said unsure but happy.
She got up and grabbed her bag, ready to go to the place she just submitted her application (hopefully successfully), so she could find out the soonest the application would actually come in.
"Wait a moment Makiko." Izaya stopped her.
She turned around, looking at him in question.
Izaya wore a serious expression on his face for once.
"There is someone I want you to stay away from. His name is Shizuo Heiwajima. Don't go near him. We both get into fights a lot, and I mean this, do not get in between us during them. Or at all in general. Avoid him at all costs." Izaya finished.
Makiko was pretty surprised. Izaya has never tried ordering her around before. Although technically, it was just this one order.
Makiko took another look at him.
Knowing him, he would never order me to do something, because he knows that that makes me just want to do the complete opposite. He has never been so serious on something with me unless he had a damn good reason to either.
"Alright. I understand." Makiko said, nodding her head once.
She left, never knowing just how much this night would change her life.
