I groaned as my alarm went off. I had such a long night. I flew into Boston from LA. God, it was just stupid early. I'm far from being a morning person. As I shut off the booming alarm on my phone, I got a call on the hotel phone in the room. Why would anyone call me this early? Why would someone call me on the hotel phone? I answered the phone apprehensively. I hear "Hello Ms. Evans, this is Andrew from the front desk. Your Father ordered you a wake up call. He said to tell you good luck." I thanked him and hung up. That was pretty weird but I was thankful for the call. It boosted my confidence and reminded me that someone was on my side.

As I got out of bed, the first thing I did was start the crappy coffee maker in my room. While the coffee may be terrible, I know I'll have a hard morning without it. As it brewed, I jumped in the shower. Nothing calms my nerves like a hot shower. Feeling the water cascade down my back is therapeutic. It's a great place to prepare myself for the upcoming day.

As I got out of my shower, I called Lee. I always call Lee whenever I'm overthinking things. I was worried about Noah, I was worried about the other girls and I was worried about being the "new girl." I wasn't prepared to deal with Noah today, I've never really been "one of the girls" and I had a hard time with being the center of attention. Back home, I didn't have to deal with Noah. While I was the captain of the soccer team and friendly with all of the other girls, I kept everything pretty casual. I preferred to hang out with the guys. Girls could just be so mean and I didn't like putting myself in the middle of their drama. I absolutely hated being the center of attention. I hate all of the gross comments from guys and I wasn't fond of being hit on. I know some girls love all of these things (including Noah,) but that just wasn't me. I got along with absolutely everyone, and I didn't belong to a particular group or click, but I stayed close to Lee.

Lee didn't seem to mind that I woke him up at the crack of dawn (or maybe a little before that.) He was always a better morning person that I was. He was also my voice of reason. He told me that Noah was supposed to go to some training camp for Football captains today and I shouldn't worry about him. He also told me that the girls would love me.

"Elle, just do what you do best. Be unapologetically  yourself. Ignore everything else around you, and do what you came there to do. Kick ass, take names and score some goals while you're at it."

Before Lee hung up he said "When you get back after practice, I will have a surprise waiting for you at the hotel."

Lee knows that I hate surprises.

"Lee, can you please just tell me what it is. PLEEAASSEEE??" I seriously just wanted to know. I know it will distract me all day.

"Where would the fun in that be? Relax Elle, It's nothing bad."

Before I could badger him for more information, he hung up. How rude!

I laid out the practice uniform the coach sent to me, and I let out a huge sigh. Its so much smaller that I remembered. Its just a pair of tight shorts and a tight black sports bra that crossed at the back. This was definitely going to give some uninvited attention. It kind of reminded me of the first day of my junior year. I wore my 9th grade skirt and everyone stared. I ended up in detention for that one. At least this one is mandatory. I won't get detention and other girls will be wearing the same thing. I guess its a little less revealing than a swimming suit, so it shouldn't be that bad.

After I put it on, I ran to the mirror. I was expecting to cringe, but instead I gave myself a silent nod. I actually looked pretty good. After I broke up with Noah, I threw myself into my work outs. Lee had Rachel and was gone a lot, so Soccer and work outs kept me busy. It left me with a nice little set of abs. On the days I was with Lee, we always went swimming in his backyard. I caught a pretty good tan, and it definitely gives me a confidence boost.
