"Riley's a bitch." (I ALREADY SAID WE KNOW-)
"Obviously," Jaiana responded to the anonymous person that pulled her into an alley way that could also be bad and do bad things. (No foreshadowing here.)
The person stepped out of the shadows. It was a girl. She had black wavy hair that wasn't that long, light caramel eyes with a little blue in them, skin that looked soft that was a beautiful light tan, and she was taller than Jaiana by about 3 inches.
"I'm Ava," she said, her voice more clear. It was deep and sounded like she'd be an alto.
"I-I'm bis- Bi... Ana??" Jaiana almost said the wrong thing and covered it up quickly. She personally thought it was a good save.
"No your name is Jaiana, I already know that," Maybe a not-so good save. "Were you- Were you about to say you're bisexu-"
"MoVING ON."
"Okay. Anyway, I can help you be popular again. Look out for me tomorrow at school. I'm a new student so I gotta show off," Ava sounded confident, which made Jaiana like her more.
"Y-You're a new student?" Jaiana questioned, excited for her to be at school.
"Ha, no. New student as in actually getting be to be me. Who I am. I've always hid in my sweater and never exposed myself, but I've decided to change that. Then once you hang with me, you will be popular again."
Jaiana took some time to think about what Ava was saying. Ava was willing to change how she looked and acted, just so she can gain her popularity back. Jaiana was pretty desperate, so she nodded.
"That sounds like a good plan... But you're not actually a new student?" Jaiana asked, she has never seen Ava and that made her feel guilty.
"Nope. I've been here since the start of the year. You were busy, it's understandable," Ava shrugged like it was nothing, but to Jaiana this was a HUGE deal.
"No, I-I knew everyone. There's no way I missed someone as hot as you walking down the halls!" Jaiana quickly froze, realizing what she said. She replayed it in her head and her face started turning a bright red. Jaiana looked up to see Ava's face expression. She looked confused and flustered. Her face was also a little red, then Ava cleared her throat.
"U-Um, thanks." Ava made a super cute giggle, at least to Jaiana it was. "I appreciate the compliment, but it's alright you didn't notice me. I kept a hood on and my head down all the time. I hurried down the halls and slid through people. It's fine, Jaiana."
Jaiana nodded and stared into Ava's eyes. She started taking detail on her face. It looked smooth like her skin, her face was round, but she wasn't fat. When Jaiana noticed she was staring for too long, she made an awkward cough like she was clearing her throat.
"Um... Y-You have heterochromia?"
"Oh yeah! Honestly, I really like it. Sometimes I hate it, but I actually love it," Ava explained. Jaiana was confused though.
"Why would you hate it, that's awesome!"
Ava shrugged. "I just do sometimes. But it's not like I want to actually rip my eyes out."
Jaiana nodded and spaced out. After thirty seconds of just staring at both of their shoes, a realization hit her in the face.
"Sh-Shit! What time is it??" Jaiana asked quickly, scrambling for her phone. Ava didn't know why Jaiana was freaking out, but she calmly pulled out her phone.
"It's 1:43 PM." Ava put her phone away once she saw the time, mesmerizing it to say out loud.
"Oh damn- Fuck- shit- Okay, um- Ava I gotta go-"
"Why the rush?" Ava asked, while Jaiana's mouth was a cursing machine.
"I gotta- fUCk-"
"You have to... Fuck?"
"NO! I j-just really have to go, okay Ava? See you tomorrow!"
Ava was super confused. "Okay, bye then."
"BYE!" Jaiana yelled, running out of the alley. It took her 5 minutes to walk home, it would probably take her 3 if she ran home.
"Mom's gonna kill me..." She muttered while running. She bumped into at least 7 people on the way, still shooting curses from out of her mouth.
When she got home, the door was open. She accidentally busted in, which was loud. Her mother was waiting for her, this time she was sober.
"H-Hi.." Jaiana said, trying not to make eye contact.
"Where were you? It's 1:47, you're late," Grace stated like Jaiana didn't know that.
Jaiana sighed. "I just got pulled to the side for a bit, it's not a big deal-"
Grace cut off Jaiana "IT'S A VERY BIG DEAL! I.." Grace sighed and paused, like she was thinking about what to say. "I get worried Jaiana. I have feelings, you know. I know I drink and I'm a bad mom but... I do care, even if I hurt you badly."
Jaiana glared at her mom "If you cared you would've tried to stop drinking for me. You would've stopped hitting me. You would've gotten a job. You would've cooked. You would've tried from the beginning, but you didn't." The more Jaiana talked about her mom, the more she started crying and getting angry. Soon enough she was yelling.
"I HATE YOU, GRACE! I WISH YOU NEVER HAD ME! I DON'T WANT SOMEONE LIKE YOU TO BE MY MOM! I KNOW YOU DON'T CARE!" After Jaiana yelled that, she stormed off into her room.
Grace sighed and ran her fingers through her hair.
"I need to be better for her, but it might be too late..." Grace mumbled to herself. She went to grab the alcohol on the table, but then she threw it out the window.
".... Whoops. My hand slipped... Yeah. That happened."
