".... Whoops. My hand slipped... Yeah. That happened."
The next day, when Jaiana got downstairs, there was breakfast on the table. She stared at it, confused.
"... What the f-" Jaiana muttered, looking at sleeping Grace on the couch. "Fuck you, I don't need this... You probably want money from me again."
Jaiana left out the door and to school without the breakfast Grace made. It was probably burnt, and who wants burnt cereal anyways?
When Jaiana was walking there, everyone glared, scolded, laughed, giggled, whispered. She sighed and waited for the bell to ring so they can go inside.
Riley and S'niya went up to Jaiana.
"How are your cuts feeling? I hope you made more," Riley laughed and S'niya joined in.
"I would like to cut you up into pieces," Jaiana answered. Riley scoffed.
"Oh! Jaiana! Tell me how you already had bruises on you before!" S'niya said excitedly. Jaiana hesitated for something to say.
"I-"
Immediately, Jaiana recognized Ava going up the stairs. Jaiana watched her and licked her lips a little. Probably thinking "Oh wow, that's hot."
Ava was wearing a black skirt (it wasn't short because school dress codes), with a red and black checkered crop top (with a black shirt underneath because... School dress code-), and some really nice black sneakers to match. Her hair was in a ponytail on the top of her head, with a red bow. It matched her so well.
You know what else matched the red? Jaiana's face. She was internally freaking out. Everyone's eyes were on Ava, checking her out. She seemed to go in slow motion. Each step was Jaiana's heart thumping, they made eye contact as she walked up. Her hair flew behind her. Right when she put her foot down on the final step, the bell rang and everyone trampled in.
Jaiana isn't everyone, though. She stood there in shock, still staring at Ava, letting everyone run and push past her. Ava went up to her and grabbed her hand.
"C'mon we can't be late for class."
"Hey, wait a second! I'm not done with her!" Riley whined, Ava just flipped her off.
"Holy horny shi..." Jaiana trailed off as she was being pulled into the hallways of death, but Ava glided through them like how Jaiana used to. Harmony was walking in the halls and saw them, her heart felt it stopped. Jaiana was supposed to help her go through the halls.
Harmony sighed. She knew it was too good to be true. Her eyes felt teary and she walked faster away from them. Jaiana didn't even notice.
"Friendth my ath," Harmony mumbled underneath her breath, but her voice was shakey.
~~~~~~~~~
Turns out, Ava and Jaiana had all classes together. Jaiana didn't even notice. Harmony was in 3, and it hurt her seeing them together.
At lunch, Jaiana told Harmony to sit with her. When Harmony went to get Jaiana, Jaiana was with Ava, which was with the popular kids. Jaiana noticed her and so did Ava.
Jaiana was going to say hi, but Ava cut her off. "Beat it loser, no one wants you. Jaiana told me she was pretending to be your friend to use you. Now go, freak."
Jaiana looked around her, everyone staring at them, then looked at Harmony. Harmony had a look in her eyes that said "Please don't say it's true."
Jaiana painted a smile on her face. "Oh yeah, definitely. Who would want to hang with someone like you, Harmony?" Jaiana's heart hurt saying this, but she needed to become popular again.
