A new start

You sat on your bed, the only thing you could think about was the letter you had just opened. After everything you had just been put through, all the pain, loss, and sorrow and yet things were looking up. You slowly got up and walked back to your computer and clicked the email again.

"HELLO (Y/N)!!!! I AM HERE TO TELL YOU U.A HIGH SCHOOL IS OFFERING YOU A FULL SCHOLARSHIP! EMAIL THE SCHOOL FOR AN ANSWER. I WILL BE WAITING!"

And just like that the screen went black again. You say back in your chair and sighed. You looked over at your phone and texted your mother.

hey mom I'm not sure what your doing right now, but when you see this I have some good news. Text me back when you can.

Your mom was out doing hero work and you were left home alone, in a new house. but you were used to it. Both of your parents had always been hero's, you grew up with it like that. But ever since your dad passed away your mom has had some trouble taking care of you. But you didn't mind, you loved your mom weather she was there or not. You had also moved due to your previous home being destroyed, but had always had to move a lot, that's why you always avoided making friends. You got up and walked to the kitchen to get a snack when you heard a knock at the door. You looked out the window to see a tall male, extremely tall male standing at the door with a small tin. You walked over to the door and opened it, you looked up at the tall male. He was had a blue mask covering most of his face, but you could clearly see his large eyes looking down at you.
"Hello."
He spoke in a low, slightly attractive voice.
"Uhm, hi, can I help you?" You said, still intrigued by his large form.
"Yes. I'm Mezo Shoji from down the street, I noticed you moved in and I wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood." He said in a blank voice.
"Ah, okay nice to meet you, I'm (Y/N) (L/N)"
"Nice to meet you too, I made you and your family some mochi, I hope you find it to your liking."
Your eyes widen and you look away as you begin tearing up. The word 'Family' made you think that your not a family anymore, because your family is broken. Your just people who live together and happen to still love each other.
"Uh, I'm so sorry, did I say something wrong?!"
Shoji asked in a panicked voice.
"N-no it's just uhm, I-I'm not exactly a... uhm f-family anymore...."
His eyes widened and he set the tin of mochi on the ground, he bowed to you and began apologizing.
"Please, no it's okay shoji! It was an honest mistake!"
He got up and handed you the mochi, still looking guilty. You reassured him he did nothing wrong and he left. You walked back inside and locked the door. You set the tin of mochi down on the counter and sat on your bed. "He seemed nice, wonder if he goes to U.A." you ask yourself, you look at the time. 12:03a.m. You get into your pajamas and turn off the lights. "U.A, here I come." You say before you drift into a deep sleep.
