One Year Later
Cade was driving their rental car through the very familiar streets and Jenna felt the nostalgia hit her as she saw the diner come up into view. She smiled at her husband as he pulled into an empty parking spot and she almost jumped out of the vehicle before he had put it into a full stop. Their guards, a man and a female parked and walked out looking at their surroundings, dressed in casual clothing to try and blend in. "Give me a second, princess." Cade said as he undid his seatbelt and went around to the side where Jenna was standing. "Ready." He said, fixing the denim button up over his white T-shirt. She was ready to walk ahead of him when he grabbed a hold of her hand and they walked towards familiarity.
"Welcome in." A server greeted them as she seated the couple with their security in the booth behind them and grabbed them some drinks. "Hi is there anything-" A familiar face asked as she looked from her pad to Jenna. "Oh my Lord." She said as familiarity hit her and Jenna scooted out the booth. "Oh my..." Lonnie said wide eyed as she blinked at Jenna in her long dress and jean jacket, her hair in a messy bun. She hugged Jenna as tears almost creeped into her eyes but she blinked them back. "I swear child, I thought something had happened to you." She said as she pulled back looking her former employee over.
"Oh my..." She said again and she stared at Jenna. "How far along are you?"
Jenna rubbed her extended belly lovingly as she said, "Seven months now. Lonnie, there's so much to tell you. This is my husband Cade." Jenna said introducing him and he moved to give her a handshake. "The hot neighbor of yours?"
Jenna laughed as he choked on water and cleared his throat. "Yeah that one." She said. After eating their breakfast, Lonnie came to sit down with Jenna as she explained to Lonnie to a certain extent what happened and she didn't give her any judgement of disgust as all she said was, "I understand."
Jenna liked what she was doing so she pulled out an envelope with a contract on it as she said, "What you're doing is amazing and without you, I don't know what would have happened to me. You opened your diner to me and gave me a job when I needed it the most and the least I could do for you is to make sure you have what you need to continue helping those who need a helping hand the most. There is a foundation where you can choose what you want to do with it." Jenna told her as the older woman's eyes started tearing up. They used some of the money from the Giovanni estate to donate to Lonnie so that that money could be used for good.
The older woman smiled as she hugged them before putting a hand to her heart. "You two are a godsend." She said and Jenna smiled slightly sadly. If only her family really were but she would do what she can to provide for others.
When they exited the diner, Cade grabbed a hold of Jenna's hand as he brought her knuckles up to his lips to kiss them. "Have I ever told you how much of a pure hearted woman you are?" He asked.
The past year and a half was tough as the attacks on her family have died down. Marabelle was spending time behind bars, Giovanni Don emigrated back to Italy where he was apparently hiding from the law, Lorenzo Giovanni disappeared completely after questioning and Jenna knew in her heart that the man was gone from good. The only one left was Vincent Giovanni who was living life as he pleased. He turned a blind eye to his family but he in the end didn't care what happened to him.
Cade had left his younger half brother half of the assets and they have come to an odd understanding as he was currently under protection of her father.
Jenna felt that her sister might have a crush on the youngest Giovanni. Her parents seemed to become more human and even though it was odd for Jenna to see her father be loving, something happened between her parents to make him become less robotic and more fatherly which was kind of odd to her. She also found out that her mom singlehandedly took out the men from the warehouse that day, and though she used her femme fatale to get the upper hand, what her mother did, she knew showed a dark side to her mother. Jenna had to remember that she was the mafia wife and she trained for instances like that. She was not all pretty and content, she was a mother with sharp claws at the ready.
As for Jenna and Cade, they hadn't exactly planned a pregnancy but they welcomed one either way. Jenna was finishing up her schooling so she could become a social worker. She had already opened up, using the Giovanni Mansion, as a safe haven for women and children, giving them the opportunity to be trained on how to stand on their two feet along with giving them room and board. They made jewelry and other projects in which Anna decided to become a partner of, a majority of proceeds going back to the foundation. As soon as she threw in the famous designer's name, more revenue came in and they were gathering a following as well.
Later that evening, Cade watched his wife as he held her closely wondering how he got so lucky to have fallen in love with someone he would have never thought to love. She had given him a purpose to move on with his life and he had given her a look into life and the real world. She wanted to make a difference and he just knew that she would be a wonderful mother to his daughter. "What about Francesca?" He asked as he had a hand on her belly and felt a kick. "I think she likes it." He laughed and Jenna rolled her eyes.
"I think it was the spicy food." Jenna said as she felt another kick. "I like it but it's so long. Nowadays kids have four to five letter names." She said.
"We can always call her Frank or Frankie." He said and she let the name soak in. "It's possible." She said thinking about it seriously.
"You're telling me Francesca Amelia O'Donnell is not catchy, test it out by yelling her full name." He said as he tried the name on his tongue. Jenna made a face at him and he laughed. "I think we have a winner, princess- I mean sweetheart." He corrected himself and Jenna narrowed her eyes at him. "Why sweetheart?" She asked and he rubbed little soothing circles on Jenna's belly.
"Because little Frankie here will be my princess once she's out. You'll be demoted to sweetheart. Sorry not sorry." He said in a false California accent. Jenna laughed as she rolled her eyes at him. "But I still love you." He told her and she looked at him as she told him, "I love you too, you jerk."
