The Unexpected Hero

First Day

Hikaru opened his eyes looked at his window with the sun shinning in, then looked over at his backpack.
"Ugh what the hell...not today" he said.
His mom then opened his bedroom door,
"Wake up its your first day of school!" She said.
He looked at her made her leave and he put his uniform on. He looked in the mirror and then tightened his tie a little then grabbed his bag and skipped out on breakfast.
"Wait!" His mother said. "Aren't you going to eat? It's your first day?"
He looked at her "No, I'm fine, I'm not hungry"
His mother looked down at the floor, "look I know this is a new school but I'm sure today will be great"
"Yea..sure" he said then left the house and skateboarded to school.
He soon opened the door to SilverLeaf Magic Academy and he was bombarded with a bunch of fliers.
"Here join the book club!" Someone said. "Please join the anime club!" Another said. "We would love to have you in the music club!" Someone else said while giving him a flier.
Hikaru took all the fliers then threw them away when he saw the nearest trash can.
"I just got here and everyone is already being obnoxious" he said under his breath.
He soon walked into his first class, and soon realized he was a couple minutes late.
"Ah Mr. Matsui, take a seat you have already disrupted my class" said the teacher named Mr. Suoh.
A boy with golden brown hair look at Hikaru, then looked down and blushed a little.
Hikaru looked at him then furred his eyebrows then took an open seat.
Mr. Suoh kept teaching about plant spells.
Hikaru thought it was kind of boring but he continued to listen because he had a feeling it would help him be a better witch.
About an hour passed and the class was over, Hikaru stood up, grabbed his bag and begun to walk out the door but not before the brown haired boy walked up to him. Hikaru stopped and looked a little irritated.
"Uh...hello Matsui..I see that you're new so I just wanted to say welcome to our school! Also my name is Koya Tokushima!"
Hikaru looked at him pretty irritated. "The names Hikaru, and don't think just because I'm new I need a friend, I don't want anything to do with you" Hikaru said then pushed past Koya still looking irritated.
Koya watched him walked away and frowned a little and sighed.
A boy walked up behind Koya and said "don't mind him, I've known that kid since middle school, he's kind of an ass....but he has his reasons...but it's not my story to tell, and the only reason I know is because people from middle school know what he's been through..."
Koya looked at him "oh...I see, well he doesn't seem to like me very much"
"Maybe he'll come around, also I'm not new we just haven't met but my names Hanabusa!"
Koya smiled at him "well it's nice to meet you but class is about to start so we must get going"
Everyone got to class, and hours and hours passed throughout the day, it was now lunch time.
Hikaru grabbed his lunch tray then sat down by himself and pulled out a spell book of his to study.
Then he felt a presence in front of him so he looked up.
Koya was there smiling. "Look you don't seem to like me very much, I don't know why but I don't want you to sit alone".
Hikaru rolled his eyes in irritation then stood up quite quickly and grabbed Koya's collar on his shirt then pulled him up to his face. Koya gulped and looked a little scared. "Piss off pipsqueak" Hikaru said then put him down and threw his food away and sat in the hallway by himself to study so he could be left alone.
The bell soon rang and it was time to go back to class.
Hikaru was the first to walk in to his self defense class.
His teacher greeted him "hello young man my name is Mr. Kobayashi please help me pull out the matt before the rest of the class gets here"
Hikaru did so and the rest of class got there just in time of the bell.
Then Koya walked in and accidentally bumped into Hikaru.
"Watch it" Hikaru said.
Koya looked at him "oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you" he then bowed to say sorry.
"Ok ok enough talking you and you! Step up on the matt" Mr. Kobayashi said pointing to Koya and Hikaru.
Koya looked a little worried "oh ok...yes sir"
Hikaru smirked then walked past Koya and whispered "you're dead"
They both then stepped up on the matt and got in position.
"Begin"! Said Mr. Kobayashi.
Koya didn't even have enough time to blink, Hikaru grabbed him by his collar swept him under his feet and he was already on the floor.
Hikaru then sat on top of him and pulled his collar up to his face and smirked. Koya looked away and blushed just a little.
"Ok ok, next up" said Mr. Kobayashi.
A few others sparred and the class was soon over and that was the end of the day. He walked out of the school and put his skate board on the ground ready to get on it and go home but he was stopped by Koya.
"Well see you tomorrow Hikaru"!
Hikaru glared at him "STOP TRYING TO BE MY FRIEND! I DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU"!
Koya took a step back, "I know you don't like me but.."
"But nothing...I don't like you so just leave me alone...you're annoying, why do you want to be my friend anyways"?! He said in an aggravated tone.
Koya looked at him, "well...well because you may act like you don't want any friends......but...but I can see that you're lonely..."
Hikaru eyes widened then he glared at him "YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ME SO WATCH YOUR MOUTH"!
He then looked at the floor, then back at Koya and glared again. He said nothing then got on his skateboard and started to go home.
Koya just watched him leave.
"Huh...we have only just met and I can see that he is very stubborn" he chuckled then begun to walk home.
