It's been a couple weeks since Koya went to Hikaru's house to study.
Koya looked at Hikaru from across the room in his science class.
He smiled and sighed.
Riku looked at him.
"Come on Koya pay attention, we need to get this done" He said.
Koya snapped out of his gaze, "what?! Oh sorry"
He started talking to Riku about the science project.
Hikaru was now looking at Koya from across the room.
"What are you staring at?" Hanabusa said while laughing.
"Nothing he's just such a little nerd" Hikaru said while chuckling at Koya.
The bell then rang and it was time for them to go to their next class.
"We'll see ya later man, I'll see ya next period" Hanabusa said then waved.
"Whatever loser" Hikaru said then chuckled walking away to his Math class.
Koya soon caught up to him.
"Hey! What class are you going to?"
"Math stupid, we go every day" Hikaru said then rolled his eyes.
Koya chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his head.
"Yea yea..I knew that, I was just kidding around"
Hikaru just kept walking and rolled his eyes.
"Look, just leave me alone, just because you studied at my house doesn't mean we're friends" he said then put his hands in his pockets.
"I was just trying to have a casual conversation" Koya laughed nervously.
They both walked into class, Hikaru sat in the back and Koya sat in front of him.
The bell rang and class started.
The teacher started talking and Hikaru smirked at the back of Koya's head and flicked his ear.
Koya was startled and grabbed his ear and turned around and looked at him.
"Why, why'd you do that?" He whispered.
Hikaru sat up more in his chair and got close to his face, Koya backed his face up a little cuz he blushed a little.
"Cuz it's funny" he chucked.
"Excuse me!" The teacher named Mrs. Ichiru said in a loud voice.
Koya and Hikaru looked at her.
"Yes ma'am" Koya said nervously.
"Do you too have something you'd like to share with the class?!" She asked in an upset tone.
"No..no ma'am" Koya said then looked at Hikaru, almost like telling him to say it too.
Hikaru rolled his eyes and said, "no ma'am" and smirked at Koya and payed back attention to Mrs. Ichiru as did Koya.
A few more hours passed and school was over for the day.
Hikaru walked out of the school and put his skate board on the ground about to get on it but then Koya walked up behind him and said, "hey Hikaru!..uh...wanna go to the park?"
Hikaru looked at him in disbelief, "listen loser, I don't want to hang out with you, just leave me alone"
"Oh come on Hikaru, it'll be fun, we don't have to speak to each other if you don't want, but we can just sit on the swings and feel the breeze and the sun, we can just relax.." Koya said while smiling a little nervously.
"Look I'll go..not to hang out with you but just because it's near my house and it is a nice day" Hikaru said then rolled his eyes and hopped on his skateboard. Koya was a little surprised he actually agreed to go with him but he smiled.
They both got to the park soon, it only took them about 15 minutes.
Hikaru hopped off his skateboard and walked over to the swings and Koya followed him.
There was nobody at the park but just the two of them.
Hikaru sat on the swing and looked up at the sky, he half smiled and felt the breeze.
Koya sat on the swing next to him and looked at him then half smiled himself, "I like your smile"
Hikaru looked at him and then at the ground because his cheeks got just a little red, the shook his head then looked back up at the sky.
"Just shut up and feel the breeze you idiot"
Koya smiled and looked back up at the sky.
Hikaru then frowned just a little but not enough for Koya to notice,
"Dammit..it was a nice day then rainy clouds have to come in and ruin it" Hikaru said.
"Really?..rain clouds make me feel calm" Koya said still looking at the clouds.
Hikaru rolled his eyes and got up from the swing when he felt the fist drop hit his nose.
"Hey..where are you going?" Koya said while standing up off the swing.
"Home..it's gonna rain...and nothing good ever happens on a rainy day" Hikaru said while looking down at the ground.
Koya looked at him almost feeling sad for some reason.
"What..what do mean" Koya asked.
Hikaru still had his back turned to him, it was now raining a little heavier.
"It doesn't matter" he started to walked away, he grabbed his skate board and started walking home.
Koya ran after him, "hey...you...you ok?"
Hikaru rolled his eyes, "look I went to the park..so now just go back to your dorm"
"You didn't answer my question" Koya said ignoring what he said.
Hikaru clinched his fists then stopped walking, he turned around with his head still pointed at the ground.
"I'M FINE! JUST GO HOME!" He yelled.
Koya stepped back just a little and saw that Hikaru was crossing the street, he then saw 2 lights in the corner of his eye.
"Hikaru there's a car coming" Koya said.
Hikaru kept walking across the street not seeing the car because he had his head down.
"Hikaru! There's a car coming! Move!" Koya yelled.
Hikaru didn't hear him because of the rain.
Koya saw that the lights where getting closer and closer, he threw his backpack on the ground and ran out in the street, "HIKARU!" He yelled then pushed him out of the way him falling on the road too.
The car swerved nearly hitting them.
Hikaru laid in the road in shock.
Koya lifted his head up looking back at where the car was then saw it driving away in front of him.
"Hikaru! Hikaru! Are you ok?! Hikaru?!" Koya said really worriedly.
Hikaru sat up slowly not saying anything for a couple of seconds, his head still looking at the road in front of him, "yea..I'm fine.."
Koya grabbed Hikaru's arm then helped him up and they both got out of the road.
"Are you sure you're ok?" Koya said while putting his backpack back on.
Hikaru wiped some rain off his face ignoring his question and saying, "see...I told you...nothing good ever happens in the rain.." he then started to walk off but Koya followed him, home.
They got to his house and Hikaru turned around still wondering why Koya was following him, "what do you want?...go home...and don't go thinking that I owe you anything just because you saved me..I never asked for your help!" Hikaru said while clinching his fists.
"I just wanted to make sure you got home safely...you scared me you know"
Hikaru looked away from him un clinching his fists.
"Well I'm fine...so just go home..."
The door then swung open, "Hikaru I was worried sick, why didn't you come home right after school?!" Hikaru's mom said worriedly.
"Hikaru turned to his mom with his head down, "sorry mom..I was at the park I didn't mean for you to worry"
She sighed and hugged him, Koya didn't know what to do because he had never seen this soft side to Hikaru before.
"Just come inside, you're soaked, you too Koya"
Hikaru clinched his fists and walked inside not wanting for Koya to stay.
"Oh no ma'am, I should go back to the dorms"
"No way you're going back in the rain, you can stay here for the night" she said while handing him some of Hikaru's clothes to put on.
He saw that it was Hikaru's clothes and he blushed a little, "no really ma'am..I shouldn't stay" he then said.
Hikaru looked back at Koya still soaked, he sighed.
"You shouldn't go back in he rain...it's...it's dangerous" he said then walked upstairs.
Koya was so shocked at him looking like he cared he didn't say anything.
"He's right, now just change and I'll make you some warm coffee dear" Hikaru's mother said.
Koya half smiled at her, "thank you Mrs. Matsui, I'm sorry for intruding"
"Oh please, you're always welcome dear" she said smiling at him and going back to the kitchen to start the coffee.
Koya then walked up the stairs and Hikaru opened his bedroom door with his shirt and a towel around his neck, he was still a little wet from the rain.
Koya turned away with his eyes looking to the floor, he was blushing a lot and trying to hide it.
"Quit being weird loser, just change in my room, when you're done go in the the living room, my mom will have warm coffee for you" he said while putting a shirt on and walking down the stairs past him.
Koya finally looked up and he was still blushing a little, he walked in his room to change into new clothes and when he finished he looked around Hikaru's room again, he saw a picture on the wall he hadn't seen before, it was of Hikaru and a young boy with white hair, they both looked so little in the picture, he didn't know who it was then a loud sound of lighting and thunder came from the window, he got a little started and just left the bedroom and walked down stairs, he saw Hikaru on the couch watching tv.
"Here you go dear" Hikaru's mom said while handing him a warm cup of coffee.
"Oh, thank you"he smiled while taking the cup, he took a sip and it made him feel warm.
"Well boys, it's getting a little late so I'm going to go to bed, if you get hungry there's ramen in the pantry" she kissed Hikaru on the head and he rolled his eyes.
She smiled at Koya then walked to her room yawning.
"Well are you just gonna stand there?" Hikaru said while still watching tv"
Koya smiled then sat down next to him, "so where should I sleep?"
Hikaru stood up, "well...I didn't ask for your help..but you saved me anyways...so you can sleep in my room...I'll sleep on the couch.."
"What?! No I'll sleep on the couch, it's ok" he said while smiling nervously.
"Just shut up pipsqueak and take the bed" he said then pushed him towards the stairs.
Koya looked back at him then half smiled, Hikaru rolled his eyes and turned all the lights off before laying on the couch to go to sleep.
Koya walked up the stairs to Hikaru's bedroom and got comfy in Hikaru's bed, he laid there while it was still thundering and lightning and he pulled the covers up to his face, they smelled like Hikaru, it made him smile and he closed his eyes to go to sleep.
Crash!
The loud sound of lighting made Hikaru wake up from sleeping, he could see the light come from the windows and he looked at the clock.
It read 2:34am he sighed and got up to stretch then another loud crash came from the window, it almost made him jump, he walked up the stairs and opened his door, he saw Koya sleeping then another loud crash came from the thunder and lighting, and the rain was so loud against his window, he just sat on the bed not trying to wake Koya up, but he really hated the rain so he kind of just wanted to be with somebody.
He sat in the corner of his bed with his knees tucked up to his chest, he was shivering a little.
Koya heard the lighting and opened his eyes to see Hikaru, it startled him a little but he saw that he was shaking and he said,"Hikaru..what's wrong?...are you ok?..."
Hikaru was trying to just calm down.
Koya sighed, "look I don't know what is up with you with rain and lighting and thunder and stuff but..you'll be ok...nothing's going to happen..." Hikaru looked up and he looked a little sad and afraid and Koya didn't know what to do, he just gave him a blanket and sat next to him.
"You don't even know me...why are you always so nice to me?..." Hikaru said still shivering a little.
"Well..because you push people away..you act like you don't want anyone...but I can see right through you....you may not act like you care about anyone else but yourself...but that's a lie...you may not like me...and that's fine...but I'll always be here..." Koya said then looked away because he blushed a little.
"Whatever...you still don't know me....I don't need anyone....not even you..." Hikaru said then looked away from him.
Koya scooted a little closer to him and sighed then gave him a little more of the blanket.
He laid back on onto the pillow and closed his eyes,
"You can stay in here if you want, I promise I'll leave you alone" he said with his eyes still closed.
Hikaru rolled his eyes and said "whatever" then scooted as far away from Koya as possible and laid down and closed his eyes.
Koya opened one eye back up and saw how far he was but he still blushed and smiled then closed his eyes again.
