This morning, I decided to go surf at 5 am. You have to go to the beach very early to enjoy the sunrise and the peace of the place. At this time of the day, there is pretty much nobody, but today I saw someone. It was a guy, a very tall guy, probably 6 feet tall. Very hot if I do say so myself. I didn't know if I should have gone up to him or not. I'm kinda shy around people of my own age. I really don't know why. I fixed him a little too long and we made eye contact. How in the world can I can so indiscreet. Oh dear god... He smiled at me. Very nice teeth too, not gonna lie.
"Hey you!" he shouted.
Wait, is he talking to me? probably not honestly, but I kinda see no one else around. So, I have two option here. He is talking to me or shouting at a seagull. I'm just going to ignore the situation and look away like I always do.
" HELLOOO" he shouted again even louder this time.
"Hi?" I answered not too sure of myself.
"What's up cutie!" he said with way too much confidence. Self-confidence has two sides to it. It can be very attractive or really annoying depending on the person.
" euh... nothing much. Just surfing." Yess Hailey like that was nothing. You're funny sometimes.
"What's your name?" he asked.
"Hailey" I answered while tucking my hair behind my ears and looking away a little because I'm shy.
"What a cute name! Mine is Jordan. Nice to meet you." he said while pulling out his hand to shake mine.
"Nice to meet you too." I replied with a small smile in the face while shaking his hand back. Very firm handshake by the way.
He smiled back to me and asked "Are you busy tonight?" with all his assurance shining thought his body.
"euh... I don't think so. Why?" I said acting like I was thinking about what I had to do even if I knew I had nothing for at least another two weeks or so except surfing in my agenda.
"There's a party at the beach for my best friend's birthday and you can totally come if you want to." he said.
"That's cool. I'm going to think about it." Pfft yeah, like I was going to a stupid party filled with drunk teenagers on the beach. Not even in his dreams!
"Okay see you later!" he replied while slowly turning his back to return to his waves.
I don't know how, but I feel like I know him from somewhere. His face looks very familiar.
He's already getting far away. I don't want him to go yet. I'm too intrigued. I wish he could stay a bit more.
"WAIT!" I shouted out loud surprised by my own self.
He turned around and responded "WHAT?"
I ran up to him so he could hear me better and said "Do you want to surf with me?". Honestly I have never been this out going. I'm proud.
"Yeah good idea! LAST ONE IN THE OCEAN IS A POOPY HEAD!" He replied while getting a head start. It's call cheating in my book!
I started to run after him and yelled "WOW VERY MATURE" and then we both started to laugh out loud.
We surfed together all morning and we went for pizza after. We really got to know each other. Well... mostly what kind of skill we had in surf. Then, we both went home to get ready for the party. It wasn't hard to convince me after all. I tried to act like I was occupied or like I didn't like teenagers and parties but in my head I already knew I was going despite everything. Jordan was going to pick me up at 7 anyway so no going back now.
