Chapter 25 - the search

(Dusk POV)

The gang and I have been searching for dawn all night long until it was day time and we still haven’t found her. I was in charge of the search while Ashley was the head tracker along with Nathan as the head fighter and Susan with Simon in the infirmary in case some of our wolves get attacked.

I was in dawn’s office with a map of the area and was crossing off all of the places we have check an so far we still haven’t found her in this area. All we got was the fact that she was near the massive oak tree from before because shira told us.

We searched there already and there was no scent. We knew she might have been capture due to the fact that her last trail was near the tree.

Loren came storming into the room and was really pissed. She caught my throat an held me to the wall.

“How could you lose dawn”?

“Im sorry Loren, I found darkest an she showed me a clip with dawn chained to a wall but it was all a trick. But don’t worry we have darkest in isolated custody.” She let go of my neck and I was gasping for air.

“Well thanks to that she now has been kidnapped”.

“How do you know”?

“I went to the old cottage where dawn was kept safe by Clarisse. Her scent was picked up there then it was mixed with James scent.” I growled when I heard that guy’s name. He is the one I want to kill right now. But before I could say anything I heard a howl outside.

Someone was here in the palace grounds. I looked at Loren and we both ran out and ran outside where we saw someone in a black SUV arrive at the front of the palace. We saw the door open and a young girl about dawn’s age come out.

“Who are you”. Some of the guards came out an pointed their guns at the girl. She held her hands up. She looked at us and I saw she was really beaten up. I saw her fall a bit then I ran over an helped her up.

“Im Christina”.

“Wait Christina as in Christina, dawn’s best friend”. She nodded and my eyes opened up wide. She was dawn’s best friend. The one who was captured by James. I saw her collapse a bit and I picked her up bridal style an carried her over to Simon an Susan. They rushed over an helped Christina out.

“There is someone else in the car. Dawn saved us both but got captured by James.” Loren looked at the car and ran over. She opened the back door an looked inside. She cried a bit then placed her hands over her mouth. She got inside an came out with a girl who was about 18. She looked a bit like dawn.

I saw the girl open her eyes and look around before looking at Loren.

“Aunty”. They embraced each other with a hug and cried for a while. Loren broke it off an placed her hands on each side of the girls face.

“I thought you were dead Clarisse”.

“I thought that I was captured. How did I get out”?

“Dawn saved you Clarisse. But she was captured again.” I turned and saw Christina talking to Clarisse. I saw Clarisse look an Christina the back at Loren. She shook her head and placed her hand over her mouth. Loren hugged Clarisse while she cried on her shoulder.

“She was supposed to be safe. Why did she come back to me”.

“Because she loved you Clarisse. She wanted you to live and by doing so she sacrificed herself to get you to safety”. She cried for a bit before her eyes turned into anger and she let go of Loren. They looked at each other before Clarisse looked at me.
