Ruby wakes up to Scott shaking her. "It's time for supper."
She sits up and pauses for a moment. "Did you hear me?" Scott asks.
"Yeah. I need a moment." She tells him.
"He wants us up there now."
"Fine, fine." She says getting up. They head upstairs to where Tyler us waiting for them.
"You can both have a seat." They sit down at the table across from where Tyler is standing. He puts a plate in front of them with what looks like a turkey sandwich and a handful of chips. "You can eat this, it's your supper. It's not a lot, but it'll get you through until tomorrow."
Scott looks at Ruby who is looking at the food. He's really hungry. He hasn't eaten since the day they were taken. He picks up the sandwich and takes a bit of it. He'll take what he can get for now.
Tyler walks away and goes downstairs. "Somewhere around two days with little food and this is what we get?" Scott mutters. Ruby looks over at him. "You have nothing to say?"
"What am I supposed to say? I agree with you. I'm mad, upset, and scared. Is that what you wanted to hear?"
He sighs. "I don't know what I wanted to hear."
Tyler walks back up to the main floor and checks on the two. "Not very hungry Scott?" he asks. Scott doesn't answer him. He picks up a chip and eats it. "Answer me." Tyler demands.
"Yes, I'm hungry and now I'm eating."
"Good. When you're done you can go downstairs, we'll start fresh tomorrow, sound good?"
"Yeah. Sure." Scott mumbles.
"And hopefully you'll have a better attitude."
Ruby puts the last few chips in her mouth and goes downstairs. She's sick of this. She goes into the room assigned to her by Scott's brother. She walks in and stares at it.
It's a nice room. Nicer than what she has at home, but home is home. She goes in and lays on the bed. She knows better, but she just wants to wake up and find that this is some twisted nightmare.
"Ruby?" she looks up and sees Scoot standing in the doorway. "Are you okay?" he asks.
"What do you think?"
"Other than that."
"There is no other than this in this situation Scott."
"Okay, how are you?"
"Scott, there is no good way to as the question. I'm doing probably a little better than you."
"Why better than me?"
"Because Tyler isn't my brother."
Scott is surprised. Ruby is normally quiet and doesn't say things like that. "We will find a way out of here." He tells her.
She sits up. "Did you want to let your brother know?"
"What do you mean?"
"You said it loud enough."
Scott steps into the room. "Well, we will."
"How? We'd have to get these off first." She says lifting up her ankle. "And then get past your brother to actually get out of the house. Not to mention we have no idea where we are."
