Happy Lisatober everyone!!! As her gift, LegendOfLisa1 has requested an update to this story. I'll try to update the other one too for you (What Will Never Be), because...well... that one has sex. And I don't want to leave you with a bad taste in your mouth after this on your birthday/birthday month.

Sorry for the long delay in updating this one everyone. I've been putting it off. I want you to know birthday girl, that I had flashbacks the entire time of Polen in Can's hut with her hand on his knee and of that ridiculous anger induced face grab. (Neither of which feature in my story. Hell. No.)

So here for your reading pleasure, an alternate version of that (in my opinion) terrible scene, where Sanem HAS her voice.

Can spent the entire time he waited for Sanem to arrive, pacing his house with his phone in his hand. He was trying to refrain from sending yet another text to Sanem. He so desperately wanted to talk to her. To apologize for going too far in the archive room.

"Stupid." he mumbled under his breath, "I'm so stupid."

Finally the doorbell rang and he pretty much ran to the door. "Sanem! You're here!" He wrapped his arms around her.

"I said I would be."

"I know, I just thought maybe... Sanem, I am so sorry about earlier. I should never have-"

Sanem stood on her toes and kissed him to stop his apology. She felt the tears returning to her eyes as the thought occurred to her that this might be the last time she kissed him. She deepened the kiss, trying to make the most of it. But Can pulled back once he tasted her salty tears. He put his hands on either side of her face to wipe them away. "Sanem? Why are you crying?"

She attempted a smile, "I just love you so much."

"I love you too, bi tanem."

Everything started to feel like it would be the last time. The last time they would kiss. The last time he would call her my only one. The last time he would say 'I love you'.

Can brought her into another hug and rubbed his hands over her back, "Let me give you some of my energy. You look done in. Is it your parents? Are they causing this sadness?"

"No. My parents forgave each other tonight."

"That's wonderful! I knew they would work it out." Can really was excited by the news. Not only for Mevkibe and Nihat or for Sanem. Her parents reconciliation meant he could finally ask her his question.

"Yes, their love is strong enough to overcome anything." I hope ours is too. Here we go... Sanem took a deep breath and then pulled back from him, "Can. There is something I need to tell you. It's import-"

Sanem was interrupted by the front door opening and Emre and Huma walking in with a suitcase in tow. There was an awkward greeting on all sides. Including Huma rudely handing Sanem her coat to be put away. Can was going to say something, but Sanem stopped him. His mother's insolence was the least of her problems. Emre and Huma walked off to get her settled and then the doorbell rang to announce the arrival of the agency staff. Sanem put on the coat and mimicked Huma. Can smiled and laughed lightly at her joke and Sanem thought it might just be another one of the lasts. To see him smile.
She opened the door for her coworkers and decided she would enjoy as best she could a few more hours with Can.
