My Brothers Best Friend

Prolouge

           First day of school starts tomorrow. I'm kinda nervous about starting sophomore year. My brother Caleb is starting junior year and he's pumped for some reason.

"Maddy can you help me with something" caleb shouts.

I run down stairs to find my brother stuck in the doggy door. I burst out laughing while he yells at me to help him out.

"How'd you get stuck their anyways?" I ask while heading over to push him out.

"Well I forgot my keys so I decided to go in through the doggy door but I got stuck. Must be my big muscles that got me stuck" I roll my eyes and try to pull him out.

"Maddy come on hurry!" Caleb shouts while he's struggling to wedge his way out. Luckily I got him out and now he can stop complaining.

"Thanks Maddy. So are you excited for tomorrow?!" Caleb says.

"Ugh don't even remind me of that I hate that summers over"

I head over to the kitchen to grab some food when I realize that Caleb brought chipotle.

I decided to run to the counter and grab his food.

"Hey! What the fuck Maddy?"

I run upstairs with his food and lock my bedroom door.

I heard him running up the stairs and I got so scared that I screamed.

"Maddy come on open the door I'm starving" Caleb whines. "Ugh fine hold up" I go and unlock my door and give him the burrito.

"Your such a cry baby" I said while closing the door.

I pack my school supplies in my book bag and I hear a knock at my door.

"Madeline voy a salir con tu papá. Necesitas algo para mañana?" My mom asks

Translation: Madeline Im going out with your dad. Do you need something for tomorrow?

"No mama I'm good"

The horrible thing about starting school is that I can't stay up late.

I just wanted to be homeschooled but noooo my parents don't want that.

I'm really not looking forward to tomorrow. Actually the whole sophomore year.

What if I make no friends?

What if I fail classes?

Or worse...heartbreak.

I hate getting heartbroken it hurts like a bitch!

Usually I don't keep friends for years. I only have 2 best friends that I've known for more than a year. 

Caleb has like 15 people he's known for more than 3 years. They all are a group. They even named the group like what the fuck?

But he told me there's only one person out of the whole group that he trusts the most. I dont know the guy but my brother talks a lot about him.

He calls him by a nick name " BD" it's pathetic. But it's what they do and again it's pathetic.

"Maddy mom says that you have to sleep at 9"

"What why?! it's too early" I say while exiting my room.

"Just do what she says Maddy. You know how she gets when you don't listen to her"

I look at the time and it's 8:00 P.M

I decided to go take a shower and by the time I got out it was 8:20 which means I had 40 more minutes. I decided to use that time to read a book.

I head to grab a quick snack downstairs but Caleb grabbed the last donut so I decided to eat cookies.

"Maddy I saw that we are going to be in the same gym."

"Oh yay" I said while rolling eyes.

"Best part we'll have gym with BD"  Caleb says while eating his donut.

"Well you have fun with your boyfriend and imma head back to reading okay?"

I head to my room and then I started thinking about how weird it will be to have the same gym class with my brother and his best friend.

But honestly I didn't really care. They won't bother me anyways.

Caleb reminds me that I have to sleep since it's already 9. I go brush my teeth, pick my outfits and finally get into bed and sleep.
