You woke up earlier than normal, the sun was just barely peeking through your window and as you sat up more you saw how the beauty of the sunlight spread through the trees, the shadows of the trees making it look mystical. You had slept well the night before, giving you enough energy to somehow not be so grogy and tired that morning. When you walked into the main room of the cabin, Marie was already awake and had herself strewn across the couch while she was on her phone. You sat in a nearby recliner chair and she looked up at you and smiled. "Sleep well?" She asked as she then looked back at her phone. "Slept great. Best I've slept in a long time." You admitted to which Marie then sat up. She turned her phone off and stood up and stretched. "Wanna go eat and we can explore?" She asked to which you nodded and stood.

The two of you prepared breakfast and had sat down at the dining table and ate it. You both talked about highschool and memories you had, most of which the other already knew about. You both had a good laugh and once you two had finished eating you both went and got ready, after you left your room Marie was waiting for you by the front door. "Took you long enough." She joked to which you laughed, "Would have been faster if someone hadn't hogged the bathroom." You shot back to which she grinned.

You both slipped on some hiking shoes and left the cabin. Once you left the cabin you took a deep inhale. The scent of pine trees filled your nose, as the cabin was surrounded by them. You followed Marie as the pair of you walked on a nearby dirt trail. You looked around, watching butterflies fly by, seeing the occasional squirrel in a tree, and looking overhead as birds flew by. You smiled, it was so peaceful, exactly what you needed after a rough 4 years of your school life. No homework do the next day, no tests coming up, no project deadlines. It was the first you felt true and utter peace. "Hey look theres a meadow." Marie called out, snapping you out of your trance. You looked forward and around Marie to see a large, tall grassy meadow. It was surrounded by trees but the open space was beautiful. "We're definitely doing a picnic here." Marie said to which you chuckled "Agreed."

After spending the day exploring the two of you had come back to the cabin and rested. The TV was on, although it was more of background noise as the two of you had your phones out. "Now don't forget the meteor shower tonight folks, it will be very visible in this town but up in Shuttle View it will be the most visible." A reporter for the local news said. You had brought your attention to the TV after the man had said 'meteor shower' you sat up to which you looked over at Marie, she as well had her attention brought to the TV. She then looked over at you and grinned. "We have to see it." You blurted out to which Marie laughed and nodded in agreement.

"I'm going to go shower and then run to town to get us stuff for tonight. Can you make dinner?" Marie asked after she stood up and you nodded in response. Once she left the room you were back on your phone, replying to your cousin who was asking how the trip was going. Before you knew it Marie had already left after saying a quick 'bye'. You didn't know how long she'd be in town, especially because it would take her 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back, plus adding on the time she would actually be in town.

You had decided you'd make some chicken stir fry since it was fairly easy to make and you were just craving it anyhow. In the first bit it was fairly easy cooking the vegetables and cutting up the chicken, once it got to where you'd have to cook two seperate things at once it was slightly overwhelming but you reminded yourself you had done this before. You finally added in the sauce mixture and stirred the chicken, veggies, and sauce a little more. You pulled out some plates and then dished up the food.

Marie hadn't been back yet and it was quite late. Although she had only been gone for a little more than an hour. You had put her dinner in the fridge at this point. As you were fipping through the channels on the TV your phone buzzed, indicating you had a new message. You picked it up and saw it was from Marie.

'Hey girl, I'm having to go to a bunch of different stores which is annoying but whatever lol. But there's this super cute cashier so I might try and get her number ;)' You smiled and chuckled a bit at Marie's last part of the message. You stood up and sighed as you looked out the front window of the cabin. As you looked out of the window you noticed a bunch of streaks in the sky. "The meteor shower!" You exclaimed as you suddenly realized. You quickly grabbed your jacket and a flashlight as well as sliding your feet into your shoes. Running out of the cabin you ran down the few steps of the cabin's porch and looked up to the sky. From what you could see it was beautiful. But trees were blocking your view. You groaned as you then remembered the large, open, meadow. Before you could even comprehend what you were doing your feet were taking you to the meadow, your flashlight illuminating the path before you as you briskly walked to the meadow.

You were practically tripping over your own two feet as you quickly walked to the meadow. Once you arrived you looked up, as well as turning off your flash light. You were in awe as you watched the beautiful meteors fall from space, into the atmosphere, and dissipate before even coming close to the Earth's crust. But then something shifted, not physically oh no. It felt as if something was tugging at you internally, emotionally and mentally. You were so unsure of this feeling as you hadn't felt it often. Some would say you had a sixth sense but you always denied any claims. The tugging became more prominent as what appeared to be a larger meteor was falling. Except it wasn't vanishing like the rest. It was getting closer and closer. Until it hit the Earth's surface.
