'Green People' and Pink Fruit
Yesterday took a lot of energy out of me, considering I slept through half the day and the entire night till morning Fesco would agree with me.
This morning I woke up like I usually do, got up like usual, and did my business. I found my food bowl in the corner filled with food to my surprise. Why isn't he hand feeding me? Not that I'm complaining.
My wake up routine was rudely interrupted by the sound of the door dinging to signal that someone was outside waiting to be let in.
If I had my way I would threaten everyone who comes over so they'd leave me alone. I huff when Fesco calls for whoever it is to come in. I raise my head out of my food bowl of fruit and meat with a low growl emitting from my chest. In walks Fesco's bad smelling friend, although his clothing doesn't smell half as bad as it did that day. I can still smell something that grates on my instincts, it sets me on edge and my food is suddenly forgotten.
"Hello Zax," Fesco greets politely. I keep my eyes glued to the new male, Zax's form.
"Fesco."
From the corner of my eye I catch Fesco for the first time wearing a nervous expression, but just as sudden as it's there, its gone. "Come sit down and we can discuss things."
Fescos POV
Zax and I take our seats opposite one another on the couches. The tension is growing between us the longer the silence stretches out, until finally he breaks it.
"The boss is wondering when you'll be back. We could really use your creativity when it comes to designing the fire lizard and their handlers' training."
I chuckle lightly. "Is Banrai releasing his full potential again?"
Zax grunts in response, making me chuckle and shake my head with a small smile. Banrai tended to go a little overboard with these things. Whether it be simple celebration planning, or decorating events, such as the training halls the fire lizard and the handlers had to go through to ensure they didn't get rusty. I lost count of how many times he had a crawler hide jump out from an air tight box to catch them by surprise.
I turn serious once again, focusing on the true reason why Zax came here.
"I know why you came here Zax, and I'll say it again."
"Fesco, you don't understand how important your research may be to the front lines. If you were to turn it over-"
I raise my hand to stop Zax from continuing. "Then it could possibly destroy entire worlds, including this one. I may have been able to discover something capable of fatally damaging sicora and crawlers, Zax, but it still remains untested, and should stay as such. It has the capability of ending an army of kymari within five minutes and is simply too high of a risk to replicate, let alone use."
"What if we were to make special gear that would keep it out of our lungs? Why would you create something with such potential only to lock it away to collect dust?"
"You wouldn't know that the gear would work until you're already surrounded, and by then it may be too late. I'm simply protecting everyone by keeping it locked away."
He sighs in defeat once again. We may be friends, but that doesn't exactly intend that we see eye to eye on everything. I know he means well with his intentions, but I don't think he's fully processed just how dangerous this gas is, despite my many explanations. He understands my worries and reasoning for doing what I am, as I understand why he thinks it should be used to help rid sicora infested planets.
