Sonic the hedgehog: rise of Mephiles

Discovery

Hours later during the party, it's now sunset and everyone is still in the park for the party.  Over in a tree nearby where the party is, shadow is sitting alone with his head down, eyes closed, and arms crossed, just being his typical brooding self.  Knuckles notices and walks over to where he his and tries to talk with him.
Knuckles "shadow, what are you doing? You should be over there with everyone else"
Shadow "I don't have time for parties knuckles, I just want to be alone right now"
Knuckles "and yet you still decided to at least show up."
Shadow "look, just because I'm here doesn't mean I want to spend time with any of you.  In fact, I think that I'm going to go for a run"
Shadow then darts off in a blink of an eye and leaves behind a trail of dust and wind, with a yellow streak of light. Everyone notices shadow leave but continue with the festivities.

(Elsewhere)

Shadow is still on his run and he passes through a forest, until hears a strange yet familiar voice call out for him.
??? "Shadow, wait"
Shadow's eyes widen and he stops dead in his tracks looking around for where that voice came from.  He walks over to where he heard the voice, and is still confused as to who it was.
Shadow "who was that? They sounded so familiar."
Shadow hears the voice call out to him again.
??? "Shadow"
Shadow looks around and he begins to recognize the voice, but is still unable to believe who it is.
Shadow "it can't be, there's no way it's her. But if it is, then how is she alive."
??? "Shadow"
Shadow then turns around and the voice is now closer.  Suddenly, a figure steps out from behind a tree, a yellow female hedgehog, wearing a blue and white dress with a blue headband on her head, with beautiful blue eyes. 
??? "Hello shadow, it's been so long since I've seen you."
Shadow "who are you, and how do you know my name.  Also I don't remember ever meeting you."
The female hedgehog giggles and then responds.
??? "You may not recognize me as I am now, but years ago you and I were friends."
Shadow pauses but then starts to realize who it is.
Shadow "tell me what your name is."
??? "It's me shadow, I am Maria."
Shadow looks at her befuddled, but then gets a bit angered at what she said.
Shadow "how dare you lie about such a thing.  Maria robotnik is dead, I watched her die years ago on the space colony ark, there's no way she's alive, and there's no chance that your her."
Maria "shadow, please wait. I'm telling the truth, I am the same Maria you knew all those years ago."
Shadow "if you really are Maria, then tell me something that only Maria would know about.
Maria pauses and then answers.
Maria "before I died, I asked you with my dying breath, if you would promise to protect this world and everyone on it.  Because you and I would always stare outside of the windows of the ark looking down on the planet, hoping that one day we could go there.  And my dying words to you before sending you off were "sayonara, shadow the hedgehog" and that's when I sent you here."
Shadow's anger fades and his eyes begin to fill up with tears as he walks over to Maria and hugs her tightly.
Shadow "it's you, it really is you. Maria, I've missed you so much."
Maria hugs back and also begins to tear up.
Maria "I've missed you too shadow.  I've knew that one day you and I would see each other again."
Shadow and Maria break the hug and hold each other in there arms and then shadow asks something.
Shadow "I still don't get Maria, how are you alive, and how did you end up like how you are now."
Maria "it's kind of a long story, but I tell you.

(Flashback begins)

Maria "when the gun soldiers shot me after I had launched you off of the ark, my grandfather came and sealed to doors shut after knocking the soldier out.  After that he found me dead, and was so sad to see that his only granddaughter was taken from him. However, my grandfather wasn't ready to lose me yet, and he went to work for making something that would bring me back. 
He used the same experiment that he used to create you, but he created another hedgehog that looked very different, but it had no mind, it was only a body.  After he finished creating the body, he took my old body and placed both mine and the hedgehog body into a machine.  The machine then switched my mind and consciousness into the hedgehog body, and my old one faded away.  When the procedure was finished, I had not woken up yet, and my grandfather thought that he had failed.  It wasn't until a few hours later that I had awoken and found myself in my new body.  At first I was frightened, but soon I had gotten used to my new body. 
I looked around the ark to see that no one else was on it anymore, and I was the only one left.  Later on, I found an escape pod and flew myself back here to earth.  After I had launched, my pod had begun to malfunction and I crash landed, but luckily I was put into a cryostasis chamber that the pod had, and I was preserved for many years.  I had awoken from my sleep sometime after you did, and that's when I heard about how Dr eggman had tricked you into helping him try and take over the world.  And after that, I had been searching all over the planet to find you, and now, here we are, reunited."
