Chapter 4

Everyone I knew was here, all my friends, Jake and the pack came, Charlie brought Nessie too. Then I saw mom. I went straight to her not paying attention to anyone else.
"I thought that I would never see you again," I said.
"Why wouldn't you see me again?" she said confused and concerned.
Why did i say that?
"Well, I thought... I thought you'd never visit," I simply can't talk without sounding stupid.
"Why wouldn't I visit?"
"I don't know, I'm just so glad you're here, has Charlie told you about Renesmee?"
"Yes, can I see her?"
"Of course, let me get her, I'll be right back."
As soon as I started walking Edward was at my side, walking with me. He's so overprotective.
"How are you holding up?" he said, "Do we need to leave?"
"No, I'm fine," I said.
"For now," I thought.
"Why would you say that?" he said.
"Dammit," I thought. I forgot about his gift, mine too. I completely forgot about my ability to shield.
"Never Mind ," I said, "It's nothing important."
"Yes it is," he says, "I have to keep you safe."
"No you don't!" I said, " I'm a vampire now, I'm strong, probably stronger than you! I don't need protecting anymore!"
"Oh no," I thought, "why would I say that" Edward looked hurt, really hurt.
"No, Edward, I'm sorry I didn't mean for it to come out like that."
"No," he said, "you're entitled to your opinion." he just walked away. Then I went to the closet and cried.
