I got a couple of glazed donuts, while Rin got a few different kinds. Eating I remembered a question I wanted to ask earlier, before we ran into Dumbass.
“How can people tell he's a Vortex?”
“Hmm?”
“I mean, no one was told. No one even knew till like an hour ago, so how could they tell?”
“Your shadow.”
“My shadow?”
“Yes, your shadow you dumbass.”
“Language.”
Rin said with a stern look. Rolling his eyes Void pointed down to my shadow. Now I could see what they meant. Void had a dark shadow of his own, which was connected to mine.
“That's just creepy.”
I said, staring at it.
“Good.”
Glaring at him I finished my donut. Looking over at Rin, I saw he had gotten a strawberry frosted. Sarah's favorite.
...
“What do you want Sarah?”
Rin asked.
“Strawberry frosted please!”
“Of course you'd pick that.”
I said, gently punching her shoulder.
“Well, it's good!”
“I know, but try something new! Glazed is good too you know!”
“To you maybe, but I'm gonna stick with strawberry.”
She said as she crossed her arms.
“Alright, alright. I'll have glazed please Rin.”
...
“Hey, you ok Alex?
“Hmm? Oh, yeah I'm fine. Just spacing out.”
“No you weren't, you were-”
Before he could finish I gave him my “shut the fuck up” face.
“Ahh.”
Rin said with a sigh.
“I know you miss her. I do too. I'm sorry about what happened but try to cheer up. She would hate seeing you this sad.”
“Can we please leave. I'd like to go to bed.”
I said, sounding irritated. Rin sighed and stood up.
“Alright, let's go.”
