CHAPTER SEVEN snapped and in pieces
Ever heard of the saying rules are made to be broken? Well that isn't Judy. When Judy Brennan 'breaks' a rule, she snaps it until it's in a million pieces scattered all over the floor. So when the town curfew is instated and Judy is told she can't go out past nine, she goes out and she invites everyone to a party in the woods.
Not only is it in the woods, where all the teens have supposedly went missing, but they're partying against the rules which makes every emotion ten times higher. The thrill mixed with the thumping music creates a background of colour and enthusiasm, pure euphoria.
Teenagers sip on red solo cups moving their bodies to the tempo, daring anybody to come and ruin their fun. Then at the centre of it all stands Judy oozing confidence, smugly looking around at her handy work, her pride and joy.
Judy lifted the cup to her lips, downing the last of it. She then strutted her way to the back, the crowd parting immediately making the teens already large smug double. As she reached the back a few bodies lingered and the music quietened to subtle thumping that made Judy's nerves buzz. She poured her drink happily thinking of how furious her parents would be when she went home. While she thought, somewhere in the pit of her stomach acid bubbled in an uncomfortable rhythm. It swirled around her bitterly creating a sense of loneliness which she quickly ended when she downed some more of the heinous liquid. Creating a black hole of numbness.
Very quickly another emotion ━━ a foreign one consumes her, compelling her to look up. Judy is met with a seemingly dark and forsaken landscape, yet at a second glance the brunette sees something that almost makes her scream out in terror ━━ or dread. Standing a mere few metres in front of her are three people but they're not people, mechanical masks of some sort cover their faces, a mess of wires and screws jut out chaotically. They adorn thick jackets covered in metal, they stand in a triangle formation and even though they are far away Judy still feels as if they are looming over her tauntingly.
Judy blinks and it's like they glitch. All of sudden they're are not metres away they're centimetres away, the dread increases and this time Judy does scream. The scream erupts from the back of her throat, slicing through the air like a blade, shiny and metallic. She then tries to run but her feet are glued to the floor, she's stuck.
But then there's another ear piercing sound, a sound that causes headaches. A whaling, whirring noise that jolts Judy back to life. A sound that makes Judy and everyone around her run in fear. A siren.
