CHAPTER SIX friendship?
As the sky grew darker and Winter progressed it became apparent that the three kids that had went missing did not run away. Thus meaning police stations were getting busier and more crowded. Sirens could be heard almost every hour of the day, blaring loudly but not loud enough. Nothing could drown out he noise of the sinister behaviour that was going on, right under people's noses.
The towns police had instated a curfew for its residents. Bulletin boards and gossipers spread the news that everyone should be inside by nine o'clock. Though some people rolled their eyes and scoffed in annoyance, others payed no attention ━━ as they focused on their own problems.
Naomi was going through a hard time, as it seemed Kennedy and her were growing even more apart, leaving the miserable girl to question; why? Luckily though, it appeared that Naomi Irvin had found an unexpected friendship in Oscar. The mysterious and often quiet boy had made an impression on Naomi and the same could be said for him. With the reports of strange sightings looming over their heads and the friendship between Naomi and Kennedy dwindling, the two distracted themselves with other things like their project ━━ which was coming along nicely.
It was currently 4:32 in the evening and Oscar was gluing pieces of paper and notes onto their poster, as Naomi ━━ in her best handwriting continued to write all the findings and research on different pieces of paper.
While her pencil scratched against sheet Oscar couldn't help but look up and notice the way her hair fell down in front of her face. Like a waterfall cascading down. He also took notice of the fact she was switching between writing with her left and right hand. Her eyelashes fluttered gently as her deep forest eyes moved between her work and the textbook. Then eventually they looked up to meet the embarrassed eyes of Oscar Clark. He immediately cast his eyes down to his hands which fumbled around carelessly, looking for the scissors he had put down moments ago.
"What are you doing?" Naomi questioned with humour hidden in her voice.
"U-um, i th-ink you should use m-ystery instead of su-spicion. Oscar smiled sheepishly ━━ Naomi noticed he did that a lot, she found it endearing.
She nodded approvingly and began to erase the word. Then a wave of sudden confidence washed over her and she coolly replied.
"You would know, wouldn't you." A grin smoothly appeared, as she stared at the confusion on Oscars face.
