CHAPTER TWO
start the fireNaomi glanced out the window of the bus, condensation blurring her view. The streetlights created an ominous glow inside the vehicle and Naomi sat back lazily with one earbud in.
The bus consisted of Naomi, the intimidating looking driver and an elderly woman with her bag clasped tightly in her hands.
The young teenager began to wipe some condensation off of the window, checking to make sure she wouldn't miss her stop. She squinted through the darkness, even though it was only around five o'clock it was currently winter and it had been raining earlier making the bus house a damp scent.
They were coming across the wooded area before Naomi's neighbourhood and the brunette watched the trees blur past. She shifted slightly as a cold draft approached her then something flickered.
The lights outside flickered and for a moment Naomi could have swore she saw something. In her mind it could only be described a glitch, there and then gone in the snap of a finger. It sent involuntary shivers down her spine and she began to hear a screeching noise.
Naomi searched around the bus to see if the other two onboard had heard anything but all she got was dirty look from the elderly lady. Eventually it was her stop and she grabbed her bag making sure to press the stop button, creating a ding sound that replaced the screeching she had heard just moments ago.
She raced off the bus jumping onto the curb and then began to make her way to her house. Although she walked quite quickly as a sudden sense of paranoia washed over her.

When Naomi walked into her house she was greeted with a strong warmth and the smell of dinner cooking. As well as her mum scrambling towards her while untying her apron and throwing her dish towel onto a nearby table.
"Well, where were you then?" Her mum asked, Naomi could just hear the irritation in her voice. Deborah Brennan was a strong willed woman with an obsession with fine china. Some days she could be odd but Naomi could never be embarrassed, unlike Judy who found anything her own father did to be embarrassing.
"I was at the library, then I had to wait for the bus." Naomi stated trying to manoeuvre her way upstairs but was stopped by her mother. She folded her arms across her floral blouse and held a face of exasperation, a face she often had when Naomi was involved. The pair were much a like, more personality than looks so therefore clashed almost daily as they were extremely hot headed.
