4: A somewhat interesting job

The following morning I woke up to see Romeo posing to himself in front of the mirror. He wore a black t-shirt with khaki camouflaged trousers and the more rugged of his heavy boots.

"Oh, hey!"
He said noticing that I was watching him be silly. I rolled my eyes and turned over to try to get back to sleep; it was too early for this.
"No, don't go back to sleep! We have a meeting today!"
He climbed up onto the bed and put his face really close to mine, I cuddled the duvet closer,
"It's important that you go today Jules..."
He whispered gently rubbing one of his knuckles on my cheek.

"...no...it's too early...and Sunday!"
I turned away from him and pulled the duvet even further over me. This only made him cuddle up to the back of me and try to pull the duvet off.
"Let me sleep, Roe...it's like, 8:30,"

"It's quarter to 10. You need to get up Jules you're meeting my team this morning!"
He moved off the end of the bed and tried to pull the sheets off. He didn't do too well.
"Jeez, you're stronger than you look,"
I heard him mumble under his breath between his tries,

"I know."
He looked up at me and growled as he kept trying.
"You know, you could just let me sleep,"

"How are you supposed to meet my team if you're asleep, Jules?"
He glared at me and stood with his hands on his hips. I shrugged.
"Come on!"
He made one final attempt and pulled at the duvet as hard as he could. That was when I let go. He flew back into a heap in front of his wardrobe.

He brought his head up through the sheets and glared at me, causing me to burst out laughing.

"You're mean, you know,"
He said as he started untangling himself from the heap.

Romeo's P.O.V

I sat on the floor amongst the sheets that had been tangled around me when she started coming over to me.

"You want some help there?"
She asked sitting on the floor opposite me.

"Would be nice,"
I yanked my arm out from some particularly tough sheets and looked back to see her leaning towards me, trying to pull a sheet from around my neck.

After my untangling session we sat on the floor for a moment. She still had a moderately childish grin on her face, that gave me some form of an idea.

"Can you get dressed please Juliet we have stuff to do,"
I said holding one of her hands in mine before getting up and striding out to the lounge where a hungover Ezra moaned on my sofa.

"You need to go to the meeting room Ezra. You know, the one you were drinking in yesterday?"
I folded my arms and just watched as he squirmed around in front of me.

"...I'm never drinking again..." he muttered before shoving his face into one of the cushions on my expensive sofa. I sat on the arm of it and patted him on the shoulder,

"I'm gonna call some of the guys to come and take you to the meeting room, okay?"
He looked at me the same way little kids do when they want something and nodded.

I pulled my phone out of one of my many, many pockets and sent my text; putting my phone away just in time for Juliet to emerge from our room. She'd stolen one of my old hoodies and was wearing the new jeans and one of the new shirts that I'd had Ezra buy for her.

She didn't look happy though; and I couldn't figure out why for the life of me.

She perched on the armchair on the other side of the room and waited quietly for something to happen.

In the time 2 of my guys had came and escorted Ezra out and left she hadn't said a word. She hadn't even looked up at me. I guess I really cared for her, because her silence and sombre looks made me go crazy.
