After the problem with Romeo's siblings the meal went so much better. His parents liked me, his brother Ben was actually interested in what Romeo told us was the job I'd be doing and Marcus and Rosaline either left me alone or had a somewhat decent conversation with me.

When it ended we still had the rest of the afternoon at our leisure so I convinced Romeo to go shopping with me. But this wasn't just me taking him around the shopping centre and spending all his money; this was me taking him to a specific shop that I thought he would adore as much as I do.

"A book shop?"
He asked as the bell above the door rang upon opening,

"My favourite book shop and my favourite shop in general,"
We paused and looked around a little,

"And we're here because?"
He pushed his hands down in his pockets,

"Because I think you'll like it just as much as I do,"
He let me take his hand and drag him to a certain corner of the shop,
"You're an intelligent guy, which means that you read books. You also have shelves full of ancient books covering your office,"

"So what makes you think I'll like these books in particular?"
I scanned the titles on the shelves in front of me and handed him one that I'd read before.

"This shop specialises in military warfare, fiction and non-fiction. That means they have books on all variations of weaponry,"
He took the book and skim-read the blurb.

"I've known you for less than 24 hours and I already like you more than most of my team,"
He smiled at me when I giggled at his comment.

He made his purchase and we headed out of the shop and back through the streets to his car. He started the engine and a car parked behind us revved at us. Romeo turned to see who was behind the wheel, and when he saw who it was he slammed his foot down on the accelerator.

"Okay, before you ask who that is and what's happening,"
He handed me his silver revolver,
"Shoot. Directly at the drivers' seat."

I looked at it in my hand and cocked it.
"Okay,"
To his surprise I turned, aimed and started shooting.

We swerved through the streets at high speeds and tried to lose him. I realised that shooting at the driver matched with driving above the speed limit wasn't working,
"Bullets,"
He handed me some more and I reloaded,
"Let's try something different,"
I said aiming lower at the car,

"Wait, what?"
He shouted,

"Trust me,"
I called back as I shot at the front wheels of the car behind us, causing it to swerve. It rolled over on its side and scraped against the tarmac. I turned and sat back in the chair just in time to see it burst into flames in the wing-mirror.

"I think I have more than one job for you, Jules,"
Romeo joked as I handed back his gun and grinned at the massacre I'd just created.

"I haven't done something like that since my 18th birthday,"
I said flopping onto the sofa back at the 'penthouse'

"Do I even wanna know what happened on your 18th birthday?"
He asked as he sat down next to me; his arm propped up on the back of the sofa holding his head in his hand.

"My friends decided to embrace my craziness so they bought some purge masks and nerf guns and we drove around the city shooting drunk people that got kicked out of bars,"
He chuckled and looked at me with a big, happy smile.

"Are you sure you guys were 18?"
He asked putting both of his arms along the top of the back sofa cushion.

"Pretty sure, how old are you anyway?"
I asked him. I felt him put his hand on one of my shoulders,
