"Let's go, let's go, let's go!" I yelled wildly, shaking the bannister from the bottom of the stairs.
Hamish was upstairs, packing his bags and making a few final checks of the house. The tent, camping stove and all the other essentials were already in his car; I was just waiting for him to get himself sorted.
"I'm coming, child!" He called back in frustration - I could hear the sounds of him bustling around his room.
As he stomped down the stairs, I rushed out to the car and buckled myself into the front seat, bouncing in anticipation for our four hour journey ahead of us. My brother finally emerged from the house, a bag slung over his shoulder, his phone nestled between his cheek and collar bone and he was fumbling around with his keys, trying to lock the door. Seeing his struggle, I hopped out of the car to take his bag from him. He smiled in appreciation as he focused on whatever was being said on the phone.
This time, we got into the car at the same time and I sat patiently, waiting for the phone call to be over.
"Yeah, yeah - whatever. I'll get it done." He finished, pushing out a harsh sigh, "Sorry about that, Sweetpea."
"Who was that?" I wondered, buckling in as Hamish drove away from home.
"No one to worry about, munchkin." He grinned, poking my nose.
The trip didn't feel like four hours, probably because I was asleep for the most part. I woke up at one point feeling hunger coursing through my veins. We stopped at a motorway services and Hamish and I sat in the car, munching on a sandwich, sharing a mega bag of crisps.
I fell asleep again, to the deep sound of Hamish humming along to the radio.

"Rise and shine, Ollie."
I felt a light tapping on my shoulder which stopped after a few incessant seconds. There was a small hustle and bustle of noise before I heard the click of the seat belt and a large pair of familiar arms slid underneath me, pulling me away from the comfort of the heated front seat. In my half-conscious state, I think I was placed in some sort of chair on a rather unstable surface.
I drifted through my little bubble of sleep hearing zips and rustling and all sorts of sounds. The light soon got darker and a kiss was placed on the very top of my head, rough hands smoothing my hair down.
It was difficult to open my groggy eyes, but when they followed through, a smiling Hamish was crouched in front of me, his hand resting on my knees.
"Good sleep?" He mused, laughing at my dazed appearance.
I nodded, stretching my limbs out in all directions. With the bleariness clearing, I noticed where we were and I jumped up, gazing in awe at our surroundings. We were in a clearing in a huge wood.
"Woah."
"Pretty cool, huh?" He chuckled, arms wide, gesturing all around him.
I slowly nodded, my mouth still open in shock at where we were.
"Do you wanna explore a bit, or get some food?" He questioned, his hands resting above his hips.
I pretended to think for a few seconds before announcing the obvious answer; food.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬Ollie had just left to go camping with Hamish and so I was feeling slightly bored; my usual source of entertainment missing from my life. Max strolled into my room and jumped onto my bed.
