There was a knock at my bedroom door and I was drawn from my very muddled thoughts. I'd been thinking all about the massive decision I was going to have to make, weighing up the pros and cons. I don't know if I even wanted to go, but considering the amazing opportunities I'd have in return, accepting the adoption seemed like the way forward. Could I leave Ollie, though?
"Come in."
Jimmy poked his head around the door, smiling gently with a nervous twinkle in his eye.
"You alright, Buddy? You've been shut up in here for a very long time." He remarked, stepping fully into my room and advancing towards my bed.
"May I?" He gestured towards the bed. I nodded and he sat down on a corner, facing me as I sat against the headboard.
"What's wrong? Do you not want to go live with these people?" He carefully spoke, easing into the topic.
"I-Its not that exactly. Moving to London would be amazing and I'd have a chance at a normal life full of opportunities for the future-" I began to explain.
"But?"
"But Ollie's here. I don't think I'll ever find a friend as good as her. She's just so kind, funny and smart and really fun to be around. Ollie's the best friend I've ever had and known." I confessed, sighing deeply.
"I know that what you and Ollie have is really special, but the fact that she's your best friend should mean that she'll be pleased that you have a proper family to go to, right? I know that she'd be so happy for you, Bobby." He replied, sincerity thick in his voice.
I nodded slowly, mulling over his words. Jimmy helped me confirm my choice and so I asked him to leave while I thought about it for one last time before heading down the stairs to tell the adults my decision.

It was the third day that Hamish and I had been camping and Hamish was in the process of tying my walking boots; we were wanting to try out this really cool walk that he'd read about online. Apparently there was a hidden trail of waterfalls in the forest and you needed a special guide to take you to them. Hamish, being the amazing brother that he is, had signed us up to go on one of these tours and we were due there in half an hour. You had to drive to a certain part of the forest so that the tour guide could more easily lead us around.
I was so excited, I'd never seen a waterfall before and Hamish mentioned that we might have the chance to stand underneath the falling water!
There weren't many other people there waiting. The tour guide was standing in front of us all and apart from Hamish and me, there was an elderly couple, a group of three women and that was it. I was really annoyed at one of the ladies because she was ogling at Hamish who just seemed beyond uncomfortable as he pulled me slightly closer to his side.
Other than that though, the waterfalls were absolutely amazing. The guide took as to ten waterfalls which was so cool - I had no idea that England even had any! We all sat down for lunch together and talked a little bit about ourselves. I found out that the really sweet couple actually used to come here as children and he proposed to his wife at the exact same spot we were eating! I nudged Hamish and nodded towards the woman who had been desperate to talk to him all day and he flicked me on the nose in response. I'm sure they'd make a great pair!
Hamish didn't let me get on his shoulders because of the stunt I'd pulled earlier; not even when I used the puppy eyes! I guess that's karma, though. We got back to the meeting point at around six o'clock and we stayed even later as Hamish talked to the guide for like, ages!
