College Love: The Next Chapter

Part 10

Authors note: This might be a long chapter as I want it to be very detailed to make up for the lack of writing.

Part 10: The wedding

Alexia's P.O.V
The wait for the wedding was nearly over.

I was sat in the bridal lounge being fit into my dress for the final time. My mum,sisters and Grandma beside me.
I hadn't seen Brandon for 2 days as I had stayed with my sisters, to decrease the bad luck.

But now it wasn't me missing him causing the panic on my face. It was the nerves. After 4 years together we were getting married. I was about to become Mrs Knight.

We had a glass of champagne together as one final gathering before I was married.
I couldn't help but wonder what was going through Brandon's mind.

Brandon's P.O.V
I couldn't believe that after 4 years I had found the love of my life and was marrying her. To say I was nervous was an understatement as I stood talking to my mother as well as my brother.

I felt sick. My stomach turned. I was about to marry Alexia. The love of my life. Mine. In a few hours time she would be my wife. Wife. I never thought I'd find someone like her and now I was about to marry her.

What if I messed this up? Surely she had been dreaming for this moment for most of her life. I couldn't ruin that for her.

I missed her. I hadn't seen her as she was with her sister, I couldn't wait any longer and luckily I wouldn't have too as the wedding was 2 hours away.

In that time we got ready and drove to the Botanical Gardens.

I made my way to the end of the aisle, where I had to wait for my wife to be.

In the background I heard people stand. My nerves grew but then settled as I knew she was here. And then she made her way down the aisle. Wow she was beautiful. I had missed her so, so much and now she was here. A smile shot to my face as She stood in-front of me. I held her hands and whispered "I love you" to which she replied "I love you too"

The priest told the guests to sit down, which they followed.  The ceremony begun. 

The Priest:

"We gather here today to unite these two people in marriage. Their decision to marry has not been entered into lightly and today they publicly declare their private devotion to each other. The essence of this commitment is the acceptance of each other in entirety, as lover, companion, and friend. A good and balanced relationship is one in which neither person is overpowered nor absorbed by the other, one in which neither person is possessive of the other, one in which both give their love freely and without jealousy. Marriage, ideally, is a sharing of responsibilities, hopes and dreams. It takes a special effort to grow together, survive hard times and be loving and unselfish.

Do you both pledge to share your lives openly with one another, and speak the truth in love? Do you promise to honour and tenderly care for one another? Cherish and encourage each other, stand together, through sorrows and joys, hardships and triumphs for all the days of your lives?"

Brandon and Alexia: "We do"

The priest:

Do you pledge to share your love and the joys of your marriage with all those around you, so that they may learn from your love and be encouraged to grow in their own lives?

Alexia and Brandon: "We do" we say in sync as we waited for the Paige boy (Brandon's brother, Zack) to bring the rings up to us. once we had the rings the priest resumed his speech.

The Priest:

 May these rings be blessed as a symbol of your union. As often either of you look upon these rings, may you not only be reminded of this moment,but also of the vows you have made and the strength of your commitment to each other.

Brandon, please repeat after me...

I Brandon, promise to love and support you Alexia and live each day with kindness, understanding, truth, humour, and passion, with this ring i thee wed.

Brandon: [Takes Alexia's hand, repeats vow, gives ring and places on Alexia's finger]

The priest:

Alexia, please repeat after me...

I Alexia, promise to love and support you Brandon and live each day with kindness, understanding, truth, humour and passion. With this ring I thee wed.

Alexia: [Takes Brandon's hand, repeats vow, gives ring, places ring on Brandon's finger.]

The Priest:

Go now in peace and live in love, sharing the most precious gifts you have the gifts of your lives united. and may your days be long on this earth. With the power invested in me by the state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife. 

You may kiss the bride.

[Brandon and Alexia kiss]
