We all stand around the kitchen table and stare down at the plans as I speak, "We head South, because as Gabriella had originally thought, there has to be something releasing the Infected from down there." I begin, glancing around at the group. My eyes linger with Drew's eyes from across the table as I continue, "We just need better weapons, and more bullets." I say.
"Where can we find better weapons though?" West asks, glancing up at me. I turn and walk into the office, grabbing a giant map of the place that I first saw when I was rushing around to grab everything while me and Drew were fighting.
"Right," I place the large map on the table and point to the warehouse in Sector 2, "Here." I say.
"Jessica, that place is full of Infected. Why else do you think Sector 2 never went on a supply run there?" Gabriella says.
"But, it's also full of guns, that we need." I state.
"It's a death trap." Gabriella says, stepping back, "I'm out. I refuse to do this."
I shrug, "That's fine. Anyone else not want to do it?" I ask, looking around at everyone else. West steps back also. I raise an eyebrow and stand up straighter, placing a hand on my hip, "Anyone else?" Sean and Drew look up at me as they lean against the table. "Gabriella, West, you will both watch the place. Me, Sean and Drew will go to the warehouse." I say and glance out the window. The moonlight shines through the window. The sun will be coming up soon. "We'll leave at sunset. That way, the Infected will all be out, since they're more active at night." I conclude and step away from the table.
"That sounds like a plan." Sean says, nodding, before pulling out a chair from the table and sitting down, pulling out a small pistol and fiddling with it.
Gabriella walks out of the room, "You three are going to get yourselves killed in that warehouse." She says as she leaves, walking upstairs to a different room from mine that she must be sleeping in.
West paces in the office. He still seems so off to me. I'm still extra cautious around him.
I turn to Drew, "Do you know where Buddy went after we..." I trail off, before saying one thing too much. Sean looks up at me suspiciously, but brushes it off quickly and looks back down at the gun in his hands. Drew stands up straight and stretches after staying in the same position for so long.
"I'm not sure. He probably just went upstairs with Gabby or something." He shrugs.
I raise an eyebrow at him, "I risked my life for that dog and you're pretending it's no problem that he's just disappeared." A smile tugs at my lips.
He bites his lip, "I didn't mean it like that." He says.
"I'm just messing with you." I smile, before walking out of the room, into the lounge room. I walk around the house, searching for my dog. He's nowhere downstairs, so I walk upstairs and straight away see him sitting in front of my room door. I smile at him and open the door to my room, letting him in. He instantly jumps up onto the bed and lays down on the foot of the bed.
After, I walk back downstairs and see Drew sitting in the lounge room again. He looks up at me as I come downstairs, "Did you find him?" He asks me.
I nod, "He's gone in my room to sleep. I think I will too." I say and walk over to the bags that are strewn across the lounge room floor. I grab Drew's bag and unzip it.
"What are you doing?" He asks, watching me as I rummage through the bag. I smile brightly when I find the muesli-bar stuffed in the bag and I pull it out. He lets out a breathy laugh, "Of course." He stands up from where he originally sat.
"You coming with me?" I ask him, nodding my head upstairs.
He shrugs, "Why not? It's better than the couch in the basement of this house anyway." He says, walking upstairs with me.
As soon as we get to my room door I've already finished the muesli-bar and I throw the wrapper to the side, as I walk in the room. I pat Buddy as I pass him and I take off my jacket, throwing it on the floor beside the fireplace. A warm glow from the fireplace reveals the dark outline of my dog lying at the foot of my bed.
We both settle in the bed and I place my dagger on the small, dusty, old bedside table for just in case.
I feel Drew's arms wrap around my waist and he pulls me close to his chest. I smile and intertwine my fingers with his, holding his hand with one of mine. I press my back into his chest, while he keeps his arms wrapped around me and I fiddle with his fingers for a bit, before I finally begin to fall asleep.

When I wake up it looks to be around midday. The sun beams inside through the large window. My dog doesn't seem to be in the room anymore, so I suspect someone let him out if he scratched at the door to go outside to do his business at some point. I quickly remember Drew's with me.
I feel him place his head on my shoulder, "Jess, we need to get ready to go." He says with a gruff, morning-tone. I nod slowly and we stay like that for a bit, before he sits up and climbs out of the bed, fixing up his side of the bed. He walks around to my side of the bed where I still lay, not wanting to get up. "Come on, Jess." He says, picking up my jacket and throwing it to me. It lands on top of me and I bury myself in the sheets. "Jess." He lengthens the 'e', pulling the sheets off of my head and throwing the jacket to the side. He wraps his arms around me and picks me up.
"Drew! Put me down!" I exclaim instantly, "I'm up now!"
He chuckles and throws me in the middle of the bed. I'm sprawled across the bed, before I quickly sit up and glare at him playfully, grabbing my jacket and pulling it on. "I didn't know you were still so hard to get out of bed." He says.
I smile as I remember how difficult I would be to get out of bed. It would be early in the morning and Drew would get in my dorm somehow. I would be so comfortable, but he would pick me up and basically drag me out of the bed to wake me up. It would annoy the hell outta me, but now I guess I find it kind of cute that he couldn't even start the day without me.
I smile up at him as if I achieved something, "Good." I say.
He shakes his head, chuckling, "Come on, we'll get something to eat, then we'll grab our weapons and go." He says, offering me a hand. I nod and take his hand. He pulls me up, off of the bed, and we leave the room with the died-out fire and icy window. The wind still howls against the building loudly and clouds gather in the sky. This is gonna be one cold day.
