Our Skyy Filler [Special Chapter]

Arthit is not one to let his nerves get the best of him no matter the occasion. The only time he's feeling such anxiousness is when it's about Kongpob. He can yell out profanities in front of strangers and still walk out with a straight face, but not when it comes to his junior. Arthit will always feel his heart pound in his chest, feel his clammy hands clench tight, and feel all the words get stuck in his throat.
Today was his big day.
He tried to sit still as to not muss his hair or wrinkle his pristine white suit. But he was jittery, his leg won't slop bouncing and he tried not to touch his white pants in fear of clenching the perfectly ironed fabric. His glossy lips kept on getting nibbled by his teeth and his sweat make his face sticky because of the light make up applied.
His head never turned so fast when he heard the door open. "Hey, how are you feeling?" Narak peeked from the entrance. When she saw how pale and stoned Arthit was, she cooed in sympathy and sat next to him, taking his cold hands into her softer ones. "Nervous?" She smirked.
Arthit smiled tightly and held her hands tight. "A bit," he squeaked.
Narak gently pried their hands away and settled them back Arthit's on his lap. She smiled at him kindly and tucked a piece of his hair away. "You know, Kong wouldn't stop pacing and he kept glancing on the door." she laughed.
Arthit imagined Kongpob doing just that, keeping his eyes trained on the door and harbor the urge to run to his room. Immediately, Arthit's heart steadied rhythmically and his shoulders finally relaxed. He gave the elder woman a thankful smile. Narak looked so beautiful in her baby blue dress, falling down on her knees with roses littered on the skirt. Her hair was well kept in a low ponytail resting on her exposed shoulder.
"Is this how you felt on your wedding day?" He asked shyly and fumbled with his black bow tie, pulling his hand away when he realized he was tipping it.
Narak made a thoughtful sound and rearranged herself on the chair. "No, not really," she chuckled and fondly shook her head. "Arthit, be honest with me," she stared straight into the eyes of the younger man. "Are you second guessing yourself?"
Arthit gaped indignantly and shook his head. "No! I... I would never," he protested. "It's just that... what if I mess up?" He asked weakly and rubbed his hands together. "What if I stutter or forget what I should say? What if I drop the ring and not find it?!" He fretted.
Narak sat there in silence, stunned. Arthit wanted to pout but he was too anxious to do so. In his mind, however, Narak's expression was similar to Kongpob's and for some reason, that eased a relief from him. Narak's lips tugged in a playful smile and her eyes shone in mischief. She fixed Arthit's tie and ironed his shoulders with her palms.
"You know, when I was in your shoes, I also had a lot in my mind. I didn't voice it to my friends and sister because I didn't want to be teased," she rolled her eyes and grumbled. "But as I thought about walking down the aisle, to go to my soon to be husband, I said to myself, I'm finally marrying him." Narak smiled on her wedding right with soft eyes. "So what if I cry and forget my lines? What if I make a fool out of the both of us, at least we'll both be the laughing stock." She laughed.
Arthit listened to her with keen ears. He looked down on the ring on his hand and caressed the gold band. It's his big day, of course he should be nervous. But what if he's exaggerating? Thinking too much? Worrying so much?
"Arthit, you can think about all the possible ways to mess up. All." She punctuated with finality. "But think about what happens after; think about finally calling Kong your husband. Think about the vows you will say in front of others." She sighed and held Arthit's shaking hands. "Try to foresee the future you and Kong will share."
