Maddie's POV

"Oh my god Maddie, would you shut up?" Tiana yelled in her annoying, squeaky voice. Chloe gave me a sympathetic look.

Lately, Tiana had really been getting on my nerves, she was being bitchy and treating me like trash.

"Would you stop being a controling bitch?" I said, raising my voice and looking Tiana directly in the eye. She flinched at my harsh words, clearly not expecting them.

"Why the hell are you talking to me like that?" she said, flicking her hair extensions away from her face. "You are lucky to have me, because if you wearn't in this group, you would be forced to talk to dorky weirdos like Hayley and Cassie!" She shuddered when she said their names.

"Well at least they are actually nice, unlike you!"

While Tiana and I we're yelling at each other, I noticed Chloe still sitting down, but she had a worried look on her face. Chloe didn't like Tiana anymore, but she was too scared to say anything to her because she knew it would backfire.

I decided I was going to leave this situation and go and talk to Hayley and Cassie. I had been hanging out with them a fair bit recently and they where genuinly friendly, unlike Tiana. I picked up my grey backpack and began walking away to go and find the girls, only to be stopped by Tiana. "Where do you think you're going?"

"Away from you." I said, smirking. With that, I said bye to Chloe and walked off. I could still hear Tiana yelling at me from behind, but I ignored her and contined walking.

Before long, I found Hayley and Cassie sitting under a tree with Ashton, Michael and Josh. Ashton was sitting behind Hayely with his arms wrapped around her and Cassie and Michael were sitting next to each other, holding hands. Josh was just sitting there, looking like a bit of a fifth-wheel.

To be honest, I've had a crush on Josh for a really long time and we were really close friends. I decide to go and sit next to him.

"Hi guys" I say, greeting the group "How are you?"

"Better, now that you're here" Josh smirks. I giggle at him.

"Where's Tiana and Chloe?" Michael asks.

"Don't know, don't care to be honest" I said. Michael looked confused but just nodded.

"Hey, we should all go and get ice cream after school!" Hayley cheered. The rest if us replied "yeah, sounds good".

*that afternoon*
Hayley's POV

As the group of us walked from school to the ice cream place, I noticed Maddie and Josh holding hands. I smirked knowing that something was definitely going on between them.

We walked inside and ordered. I ended up deciding to get salted caramel and Ashton got chocolate.

Once we all had our ice cream, we decided to go to the beach.

I sat down on a rock with Ashton with the rest of the group sitting on the other rocks. The moment seemed kind of cliche; a group of friends sitting in a circle at the beach and eating ice cream, but to be honest, I couldn't be happier.

I was broken from my train of though when Ashton wrapped his arm around me and kissed my cheek. "This is nice, don't you think?" He said, resting his head on my shoulder.

I smiled at how perfect this moment was and realized, that sometimes, the most important things in life are right in front of you, but you're too worried about the irrelevant things to notice them.

I feel like I am drowning in a pool of rainbows and Ashton's perfection.
