Hayley's POV

I woke up feeling calm and energised. I looked to Ashton who had his arms protectively wrapped around my waist. He was still fast asleep and I didn't want to wake him so I lied there for another 5 minutes, staring at the ceiling until I heard his quiet and husky voice "Good morning beautiful." For some reason, my heart fluttered when he said 'beautiful' although he probably only meant it in a non-romantic way, I took it as so much more.

Then, the realisation hit me. It was Monday. Dammit.

I quickly jumped out of bed and started to get ready. Ashton went back to his place to get ready. Once I was ready, I heard the doorbell ring, telling me Ashton was back to take me to school.

I said goodbye to my brother and my Mum before walking out the door, following Ashton to his car. The ride was silent, but not awkward. We got out of the car and made our separate ways. I went up to my locker to see Cassie, and I assume Ashton went to go and talk to his friends.

"Hey Cassie" I said. Cassie turned around and gave me a bear hug. "Hey, what did I miss on Friday?" she asked. I frowned when I realised what I was going to tell her.

"I broke up with Ryder. Well not officially. I over heard his conversation with Josh and they were saying it was a dare. I got really angry with him so before first period came, I told the nurse I had a 'headache' and she let me go home, I ended up buying ice cream and sitting on my bed, blasting All Time Low."

Cassie gasped as she took in the news. "Oh my god Hayley, why didn't you tell me?" she looked genuinely worried. "I honestly didn't want to talk to anyone. Well, that was until Ashton came around Sunday evening. He ended up staying the night." I explained.

Cassie was smirking and trying to hold back a laugh. I slapped her, knowing what she was thinking of. "No! Cassie! Why would you think that?' I said, annoyed with her immature behaviour. "You two are hopelessly in love with each other, but you just haven't realised it yet" Cassie said, trying to prove her point. I rolled my eyes, but didn't bother to defend myself.

Ashton's POV

I was sitting in the back of history, not bothering to pay attention to what the teacher was saying. The only thing that had my attention was Hayley, who was sitting in the front row, carefully paying attention to the teacher.

I thought of last night when she had been in my arms, with her lips so close to mine. I so badly wanted to kiss her then, but I knew there was no way she would want the same. She had absolutely no idea how much I liked her, and to her, last night probably only seemed like a friendly gesture, but to me, it was so much more.

I sighed I grabbed my backpack when the bell rang, I slowly made my way to my next class; sport. I smiled when I realized that Hayley was in that class with me.

Hayley's POV

I sighed remembering that my next class was sport, but my mood slightly changed when I realized that Ashton was in that class with me.

When I got to the oval, I saw that the teacher was making the class do laps. My teacher was really easy going so I just sat out, without bothering to come up with an excuse.

I lied down on the grass, using my backpack as a pillow. I put in my earphones and put on the song 'Roger Rabbit' by Sleeping with Sirens. I closed my eyes and let Kellin Quinn's beautiful voice overpower my thoughts.

A minute later, I smiled as Ashton came and lay next to me. He pulled out one of my earphones and put it in his ear. The song was on repeat, and when it played for the third time, Ashton turned his head to face me. I turned my head too, resulting in our faces being millimetres away from each other.

I felt like I was in a pathetic and cliché teenage movie, but never the less, we both leaned in, and our lips touched. They began to move in sync and Ashton caressed my cheek.

The realisation hit me. I was currently kissing my best friend, practically brother, but nothing in me wanted to pull away. The feeling of his lips on mine was pure bliss; however, I was broken from the amazing moment when I heard Ryder's angry voice.

"You slutty bitch!"

A/N: hey guys!!! Sorry I haven't updated in ages, I've had a cold, resulting in me having zero brain power.

This story is coming to and end soon, I think the next chapter will be the last one, I'm not sure.

Im sorry that this story was short, but it's my first story on wattpad so I'm still pretty proud of myself.
