(A/N: I know that this probably seems hella slow, but I'm getting there. I'm trying to limit the chapters to roughly 1,500 words, and I don't want any higher than 2,000 until I get further in. And seeing as I'm writing all these chapters around 3am, I know it'll probably seem a little stupid. BUT! It'll get better soon, I promise!)

(Sorry if any of this has mistakes. When I write as Billy, it is a third person view but when writing as Y/N its first person. So, sorry if it kinda throws you off)

You wake up to the sound of a window being opened. You groan as you turn onto your side, stretching a bit before you look to the blonde who was resting against the wall “You’re up.” Billy commented, looking over to you “There’s a granola bar next to you, and some water.”

You nod as you sat up and grabbed the bar along with the water “Thanks..” You whispered, biting your lip a little as you looked around the room, finally getting a better look at the room “And uh, thank you, for last night.” You bite the inside of your cheek “You could have just left me on-” Billy cut you off, shaking his head “Don’t worry about it.” He shrugged, putting his cigarette out and turning all the way to you “How about.. We get you out of here and get some actual breakfast?”

You raised a brow at him, a curious look in your eyes “So you wanna go.. To breakfast with me? Why?” Billy leaned forward, his hands resting against the bed as he moved closer to you “Because I want to know more about the mysterious girl who I helped last night.”

You tilted your head, looking down at Billy’s hands before you looked back up to his blue eyes “You wanna know me better?” You laughed a little, shaking your head “So you can what.. Say you got another notch in your belt?” You leaned forward “Cause if that’s all you’re trying to do.. You aren’t going to succeed.” That’s a lie. He’d totally succeed in this. “How about we go and get food, but you tell me why you helped me?”

Billy smirked, nodding as he pushed off the bed, already dressed for the day “Deal. Now let’s sneak outta here.” You stood up and fixed your hair in the mirror real quick before you pulled your boots onto your feet. He motioned for you to climb out the window “If this is all some prank, I’m coming for you, Billy.” You said sternly, a small hint of fear in your voice.

“I’d love to see you come after me, Darling.” He rolled his eyes, climbing out the window behind you and pulling it shut “See. Not a prank.” You point your finger at him “I know you helped me last night, but it doesn’t mean I have to trust you fully.” You said as you walked behind him to his car, making sure that you weren't gonna be seen from the windows in case his parents looked out. You climbed into his car, biting your lip as you fixed your sweater “Where do you want to start?” He asked you

Billy looked over to you before he pulled out of the driveway and made his way down the road to the local diner. You didn't answer him, tilting your head a little. “Why did you move to town?” He asked. You rested against the door, looking at Billy “Because my dad got a job here for the newspaper, and he obviously figured moving to this small town would totally help his career.” You rolled your eyes, crossing your arms over your chest “Next?”

“Does your dad hurt you?” He asked instantly, looking to you for a moment “And don’t think about ignoring the comment.. I seen the bruises..”
You froze, staring at him before you started to fiddle with your sweater “He’ll drink too much on stressful nights.” Turning your attention away from the blonde and looking out the window “And if I do anything wrong.. Even a small mishap at school and he finds out, then I’m in trouble.. It’s why I didn’t wanna go home last night.”

“But where is he gonna think you were?” He asked, curious. Billy knew he shouldn’t care this much about you, but he couldn’t help it. The look in your eyes last night, a look of pure fear, it’s something he never wants to see on your face ever again. “He’s gonna just think I stayed out late and didn’t come back. He knows I really don’t have any friends in this town.”
