Chapter Five

The smoke began to clear slowly, and everything was silent a moment. The Captain stood there, quivering on the spot. He knew the capabilities of that leaf, only seeing it in action a few times, but a few was plenty. He was positively terrified of the power of the Super Leaf. The other Koopa also looked scared, loosening their grip on the other two heroes. Terry and Ace didn't even bother trying to squirm out of the Koopa's grasp, as they were far too focused on whatever happened to Xavier.

When the smoke was completely gone, all that stood there was Xavier. He looked relatively the same, but with a few small changes. For one, he was on his feet, and looked completely healed of all battle injuries he suffered in his fight with Captain. But the other distinct fact was the pair of raccoon ears protruding from his messy brown hair. They quivered in the cool breeze of the night, alerting the teen of his surroundings. He also had a matching tail to go with it, striped with black and slowly moving from side to side. Xavier opened his eyes and smirked, once again swiping his thumb across his nose in confidence.

Captain backed up, silently cursing to himself in fear. He didn't get the chance to run, as Xavier had lunged at abnormally fast speeds. He was gone in an instant, reappearing at Captains head and delivering a mighty sidekick. Captain screeched as he was sent flying, barely getting a chance to breathe before the teen lunged again.

Xavier grabbed the Koopa's shoulders and kneed him in the shell several times, the surface cracking under the immense power. Captain barely had time to process that, before Xavier swung his body at the Koopa, using his feet to send him careening into a pipe.

Continuing his assault, the brunette waited a moment for the Captain to bounce off the pipe before flying directly at him, his left leg outstretched. It collided with the Koopa, who was sent back into the pipe at full force. The green surface of the tube shattered from the immense pressure, and Captain groaned in pain. He was thankful he was allowed a moment to catch his breath. It didn't last long.

Xavier returned to the ground and continued his barrage. He swung his body to the right and attacked with a roundhouse. Then, the left, and the right, and left again. He drew back his right leg and gave a front kick to the Koopa, sending him into what little was left of the pipe once more. He finished his brutal assault by performing one of his special moves.

Whilst the Captain recovered from the immense set of blows delivered to him, Xavier quickly flipped onto his hands, sticking his legs and tail straight out. He then began to spin on the spot, rapidly speeding up. He'd wanted to test this out for quite a while now, and with the addition of his new-found Super Leaf abilities, he figured this would be the best time to execute it. In the blink of an eye, Xavier had turned into a spinning twister, attacking the Captain with a barrage of kicks and tail whacks. The brunette went full speed, grounding the Koopa against the pipe remains with his Gyronado.

When he finished, Xavier jumped back up to his feet and watched as the Captain tried to stand, bloodied and bruised. He lightly grabbed the Koopa, offering a sense of comfort. That was quickly ditched as he proceeded to launch Captain into the sky, striking him with an arc kick when he neared the ground. The Koopa went flying high into the sky, and Xavier flew up after him, seemingly aware of his flight abilities gained from the Super Leaf.

He flew up past the Blue Shelled creature, waiting for the momentum to carry him up to where the brunette was. Just before he collided with Xavier, the teenager stuck out his right leg and performed a front flip, his heel brutally colliding with the skull of the Koopa at a direct point! Captain was sent careening back to the dirt, screaming all the way down until a loud crack followed by a huge dust storm manifested when he hit the ground. Xavier slowly lowered himself to the ground, dramatically crossing his arms and smirking at the Koopa holding his friends captive.
