"And with this contract signed, the Mushroom Kingdom and Koopa Kingdom will officially be at a truce, and no more wars will be waged so long as these two stay in power." The mayor of Toad Town states, his belly bouncing happily with each word.

From both sides of the stage, a petite princess in a Pink Gown, and a large dragon-turtle like creature emerge. They both seem calm, and at peace with the decision that is about to be made.

A short man walks with the Princess, making sure to stay close in tow. He wore a red shirt and matching cap with blue overalls covering him. He looked like a plumber, and was hard to miss with that signature mustache of his.

The three step up to the podium, all smiling at the cheering crowd filled full with Toads and Koopa alike. Thousands waited outside the building as well, eager to see this truce signed. This was, after all, the end to a long and well fought war.

The mayor walks up to the Princess and the dragon-turtle, handing each of them a pen. He cowered slightly under the creatures massive figure, but kept his calm. The plumber eyed the Koopa watchfully, in case he pulled any stunts. He was well known for that, after all.

But he didn't pull anything. Instead, he briskly and silently signed his name on the paper, dropping the pen at the top of the podium. The Princess did the same, holding the pen in her two petite hands when she was done.

The mayor grabbed both sheets of paper and examined the signatures closely, lest there was any foul play involved. The entire crowd waited with baited breath, sighing in relief when the mayor smiled and raised the sheets high into the air.

"With the signatures of Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom, and King Bowser of the Koopa Kingdom, I can officially and happily say that the peace treaty is now in effect!" The mayor cheered.

The crowd erupted into happy cries at that. Cheering, throwing people and hats high into the air, chanting the names of the people upon the stage. Everybody felt happiness unlike anything they've ever felt.

For so long, the war of the Toads and Koopas raged on, many caualilties caused and many lives turned to misery. Even with the efforts of the heroic plumber who stood upon the stage wasn't enough at times. But now it was finally over.

That night, and for a solid week onwards, a festival was held a huge party thanking the effects of the treaty. King Bowser was pleased as well. Sure, he had evil motives, but he was a Koopa of his word. He would not break this treaty. After all, he was just as tired of the war deep down.

Princess Peach was relaxed, for the first time in so long. Finally, she no longer had to worry about the evil Koopa King kidnapping her. No more surprises ever again.

And the plumber Mario was probably the happiest. He was thrilled he no longer had to traverse the Mushroom kingdom on a monthly basis, squashing poor minions and getting into fights, all to save the Princess. He was getting old, after all.

The Mushroom Kingdom was at peace, for the first time since 1985, and has now entered a whole new age. An age where Koopa and Toad can live as one, happily and freely. The Mushroom Kingdom had been born anew.
