"I used to have this lil' teddy bear," I said trying not to laugh as Tryce and I laid on my bed. "And I took it everywhere with me. Even when I got older. And one day my ma' and Rico hid it from me and I cried that whole damn day. I don't even know why it had such a impact on me but when I say I beat Rico up that day, I gave that nigga the business,"

I just sighed as I thought about those past events. It felt good though and it was therapeutic to talk about them.

"I can tell you miss him. Seems like you two was best friends and I hate that he was taken from you," Tryce stroked my cheek, pushing stray hairs from my face.

"Yeah, I miss him a lot," I ran my hands up and down Tryce's torso.

"Everything seems to have a reason behind it. Maybe his death is what makes you go so hard with the music. You got a lot of pain in your music and that's a good thing, you have a story to tell,"

"It's not easy but you really make it look like it. You got a lot of strength in you baby,"

"Thank you," I said resting my head on his chest, listening to his heart skip multiple beats.

We just laid there in silence. Our bodies fit together like puzzle pieces and the way he rubbed my back made me want to drift off into a deep sleep.

I could really just lay here all night. We'd been going on for two months now and this was really the happiest I've been in awhile.

We were still in the honeymoon stage, puppy dog stage, whatever you wanna call it. It was just all cute and innocent but I know the real shit was soon to be on its way and I was content with that.

He was more than a boyfriend and I'm glad he had multiple purposes. He was my chef, sometimes my maid, he was an entertainer, a storyteller, my new journal, and my heart.

And even on my worst days he'd find something that would brighten up my mood.

"You smell real fuckin' good. What is that?" I heard him breath in deeply.

"I washed my hair remember," I laughed at him and jumped hearing a bang at my front door. "

"It ain't nobody but the pizza man, can you go get it baby?" I yawned against his chest.

"Yeah, let me up," he chuckled gripping onto my ass and I rolled over on the other side.

I grabbed my phone as I watched Tryce walk out into the living room.

"Lord," I heard Tryce say. "Baby, yo' crusty ass ex is here,"

Jakari isn't out of the picture, and as weird as it sounds we were all friends. Tryce and Jakari kept it at arms length with each other and would throw little slick shots. But for the most part, we all got along.

"You crusty," Jakari smacked his lips and pushed himself into the house. "Zay, I came to invite y'all to the movie premiere tonight,"

"Tonight?" I walked all the way into the front and sighed, crossing my arms.

"Yeah tonight stoopid, ain't that what I said. Now go put on sum pretty. Tryce, it don't matter what you wear cause you always gone be a ugly nigga," Jakari chuckled and fixed the sleeves to his tux. He always cleaned up nice but he looked really good tonight.

I never thought he'd be starring in a Hollywood film. He always talked about his dreams of being a basketball player so much that I didn't know he could act.

He was a pretty good liar though.

"What time does it start?" I rubbed onto my arm.

"At eight, so y'all got two more hours. I gotta go kiss some ass at the pre-show and I might just meet some fine ass cougars, take em home wit' me tonight," he chuckled, swiping his nose with his thumb.

"You still built like a middle schooler. I don't think anybody willing to catch a case for you, lil nigga," I smirked at him and let out a laugh. "But I'ma go get dressed. I'll text you when we on the way,"

"Aight," he nodded and headed towards the front door. "Bye Zay Zay, and Triceratops,"

"Bye," I shook my head at them bantering back and forth and headed towards my room.

I checked my closet for something classy to throw on. Majority of my clothes were just baggy or too provocative for this type of event.

I had an all black dress that met my ankles and hugged the rest of my body. It had a long cut down the middle, exposing my cleavage.

"Why we agree to be friends wit' that nigga again?" Tryce scoffed walking into the room.

"Cause, I can't throw away those years of friendship away. He was in the picture before you. He just gone have to learn how to get over me and I think it's working," I shrugged and zipped up the back of my dress.

"I guess," I heard him suck his teeth. "You sure do know how to pick 'em,"

"The fuck does that mean?" I rolled my eyes playfully, looking at him through my closet mirror.

"You got a very distinct taste in men," he sat against my bed, both hands sank into my mattress. "Ain't nun wrong wit it,"

"I guess I do," I shrugged my shoulders. "Can't wait to see what yo' exes lookin like, so I can speak on yo' taste,"

"Fuck dem' bitches," he scratched his eyebrow and stepped into the closet, grabbing something of his to throw on.

"Yeah, fuck em,"

He pressed his body up against mine as he admired my body in this dress. Our eyes locked through the mirror as I watched his hands run up and down, cupping my breasts.

"You look pretty baby," he smirked against my shoulder and left small kisses on my neck.

"Thanks boo," I turned my head towards him and pecked his cheek.

"Ain't no problem,"

"Ain't no problem,"
