Chapter 5

Elizabeth's POV

I'm really glad I made it home. I got tired of being in that hospital. I couldn't talk to anyone. It was awful. And to hear my family and friends cry their eyes out, just made me want to die.

I'm so happy Josh feels the same way I do. I don't have to hide my feelings anymore. I hope this doesn't affect how close we are. In a bad way. This is a dream come true.

My mom says I can't go to school until tomorrow. She said she wanted to make sure I wouldn't try something like that again. And trust me it won't. I hated just laying there in the hospital. It was torture. I can't wait until I see Josh again. Maybe I'll text him.

The text reads, "Hey, you should come over and hang out with me after school. Please. I could really use some company."

He replies back with, "Sure, but it will have to be after 4:30. My coach said I can't miss anymore practice."

"Okay, that's fine see you then." I type and push send.

Tomorrow is going to be a good day. I can already tell.

Josh's POV

I think I'm going to leave school at lunch, so I can go get Liz a present. I don't know what to get her. I'll ask her mom what she likes.

I typed this, "Hey its me Josh, I was thinking about getting Liz a present but don't tell her. The thing is, I don't know what she would want. Could you ask her for me?" Then I pressed send.

She replied with, "She's been wanting the perfume and lotion called 'In A Distance'. We were gonna get it for her for Christmas but didn't have the money."

"Okay I can get that. I really hope she likes it."

"She will."

I check in at the front office and tell them I'm leaving. They don't care they just want to know when you leave.

I get in my car, and see how much money I have. When I'm done counting I have a little under $300. That should be plenty of money to get her what she wants.

As I'm walking through the store, I'm frantically searching for that gift. I can't find it anywhere. I ask the cashier if she knows where they are. She said if they had any in stick they would be here, on this shelf but they aren't. My heart just kinds fell apart.

I start walking towards the exit and something catches my eye. I walk over to it and pick it up. Its the perfume I was looking for. I go to the cashier and she rings it up.

"$89.99" She says.

"Woah, that's expensive." I say.

"Yeah." She says trying to make conversation.

"Thank you" I say as walking out the door.

I take the kit out of the box and smell it. It smells girly, but if that's what she likes then I guess its okay. I think I'm going to take her out to eat. I should ask her dad.

~Dials her dads number

*Ringing*

"Hello King's house. Who's calling?" A light voice answers. It has to be Elizabeth.

"Shouldn't you be getting rest?" I say.

She gasps, "Oh its you, her what's up?"

"I was wondering if your dad was around?" I say

"Yes, do you want to speak to him?" She says sounding a little confused.

"Thanks" I say as she hands the phone to her dad.

"Hello?" He says.

"Yes, Mr. King? I was wondering if I could take Liz out for dinner tonight? I got her a gift and I want it to be special when I give it to her." I say.

"Yes, that'll be fine, just have her home before midnight. Understand?" He says.

"Yes sir. I understand. And thank you so much." I say.

He hangs up and I do my homework. I don't have much. Just a little.

When I'm done, I look at the time, its only 2:45.

"Could this day go by any slower?" I say to myself.

Maybe I can take a nap. I set my alarm to 4:30 and slowly fall asleep.

Sorry nothing happened. And also sorry for not updating yesterday. I'll try and update everyday from now on, I promise.
