We passed a small forest and then broke through to the actual village. I looked around with curious eyes, and then we began to roof-travel. I couldn't help but grin as I saw the Hokage Mountain ahead, and silently thanked Yemon for helping me learn about Konoha. As we grew closer to the Hokage Mountain, I could see a building beneath it, which I assumed was the Hokage's office. I looked back up at the carved faces of previous Hokage and impulsively asked something.
"What happens when you run out of room on the mountain?" I asked, tilting my head and pointing at the monument in front of me.
Surprisingly, it was the leader that answered me. I thought he'd just ignore me for the whole trip.
"Most likely we'd make more room with earth ninjutsu," he said after a moment of thought.
"That'd take up a lot of Chakra... I'd most likely kill myself If I tried anything even close to that kinda ninjutsu." I frowned, wishing I had thought of that. The man glanced back.
"...One day you might get strong enough, if you work at it." I blinked at him with furrowed brows.
"Maa, your nicer then Suna nin. Maybe it's the trees," I mused idlily, "I bet Suna nin would be nicer if they had awesome trees like you do."
I swear, I could feel the Konoha nin smile at that, "Well we're not giving up our trees."
"Makes sense, I wouldn't either. Suna nin would probably just run into the trunks anyways 'cause they have sand in their eyes." I huffed.
The whole group either chuckled or grinned at that, while my mother just sweat dropped. She knew I was right.
"Why are you making fun of your own people, child?" The leader asked after a moment.
"Because as far as I've experienced, they're all assholes," I scoffed, "Except you mom, you're perfect." I beamed up at her, while she just softly smiled.
I could feel the group around us easing up after my comments, some were probably shocked that I knew so many words, but from what I've heard, they've had their fair share of child prodigies. The only thing that mattered was that my plan was working.
Step 1: Make them not hate me as much, complete.
Step 2: Make the Hokage think we'd be a valuable asset to Konoha.
Though just because I said those things to make them ease up around me doesn't mean I didn't mean every word.
Finally, we reached the Hokage building. When we walked in...well, let's just say it was way different then when we walked into the Kazekage one. People were bustling around, some wore smiles on faces, some were grim. Groups of genin chattered excitedly with people, talking about their missions, and pods of jōnin and chūnin talked with each other idlily.
The second floor was filled with paper-pusher ninjas usually forced to work there due to injuries. They ran around carrying stacks of paper and such and darting into rooms. Then, the last floor held the Hokage's actual office.
I huddled closer to my mother, nervous. The 'what ifs' filled my head once more as we walked over to the large door, once again guarded, and the leader of the squad knocked politely on it.
I felt a wave of déja-vu wash over me. Now this felt similar to when we went to the Kazekage's office, honestly, it was kinda unnerving.
