Louise's bedroom felt cold and silent, Sarah kept wiping her forehead, she felt clammy to the touch and could feel sweat dripping from her eyebrows down her nose. She stood there in the middle of the room and almost froze, she couldn't feel her legs or her arms. The only thing she could feel was her heart pulsating through her chest so hard you could physically hear the thud of her heart hitting her chest wall.
Sarah started to slowly move her head back and forth scanning the bedroom, she needed to find something. Louise was smart and she would of left something behind knowing Sarah would find it to give her some more insight into what was happening.
Sarah made a tutting noise with her mouth.
She felt like someone was watching her and she felt pretty uneasy, Oliver had popped back outside to take a important phone call so she was all alone.
"Ah computer desk!" Sarah almost sounded excited.
Sarah started slowly lifting pieces of paper that were sprawled out on the desk, Louise was a tidy, organised person so the police had already been rummaging. What if they had already found the information Sarah needed to find?
Sarah took a step back and scanned the desk once more, there was a draw that was locked right at the bottom, Sarah bent down and started pulling but it wasn't opening. At least now she knew that the police hadn't been able to look in that draw.
Eeeeekkkkkkkkkk
Sarah jumped up at the sound of the front door creaking open, She shrugged it off, Oliver was only outside so Sarah thought he had come back in.
THUD THUD
Sarah could hear the thud of heavy boots walking up the stairs, she couldn't remember Oliver ever being that loud up the stairs, she knelt back down and continued to try and pull on the draw handle. Suddenly she felt the tension of someone staring at her, the feeling was so intense that it felt like their eyes were burning the back of her head.
"Oliver? Could you help me pull this bloody draw out please, its locked and I think its the only thing in here that the police haven't managed to look through yet, there may be something in here that could help me understand what happened to her and how to find out who this twisted person is!" Said Sarah.
"HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE"
Sarah froze, she didn't recognise that snarly, sniggering laugh, she knew instantly that it wasn't Oliver who had joined her upstairs, She couldn't bare turning around to see who was there so many thoughts were racing through her mind.
Is this my time? Am I really going to die in my best friends home the morning after she was murdered here? oh my god I can't believe this is happening to me, Do I fight back? or just roll over and let him do what he wants to me?
Sarah took a deep breath in through her mouth, she knew that she needed to turn around. If she was really going to die she didn't want to die in vain, she wanted to die looking her killer in the eyes while telling him what he will be taking her away from.
Then something snapped, Sarah thought about Melody finding out her mother had been brutally murdered, and spending the rest of her life in fear and having unanswered questions. She needed to fight back. She quickly scanned the desk in front of her to see if she could spot anything to defend herself with, there was a stapler. That will have to do she thought to herself.
She slowly slid her hand over the top of the stapler and without thinking she spun around as quickly as she could with her arm raised ready to hit, but no one was there.
"What!?" Sarah whispered to herself and as she looked over at where she thought she heard the laughing coming from she saw a note lying there in the doorway.
She slowly walked over, scanning every inch of area around her to make sure no one was trying to catch her off guard. The note was shaped like a rose again and as she opened it she saw big bold writing in red, It was a dark red that was moist to the touch.
Sarah put the note to her nose before scowling and pulling it away.
"Yep that's definitely blood! Great" Sarah was breathing a little quicker now, she desperately didn't want to read the words.
It read...
I HOPE YOU FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR
I WILL SEE YOU SOON
MWAH X
P.S YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL AS ALWAYS X
Sarah felt a shiver go down her spine,
Sarah couldn't find her voice to scream and she didn't want to run incase the killer was still in the house, so she crept backwards to the back of the room while leaving the door wide open and grabbed her phone. She dialled for the the only person who could help her right now.
"Hello? Oliver? you need to get up here" Sarah was whispering.
"For god sake Sarah, I can't hear you! What do you want?" Oliver sounded frustrated that Sarah had disturbed him.
"He was here in the house, he was standing right behind me, he...he left me another note" Sarah tried to talk a bit louder but her voice was quivering from the fear.
....................................................................................
The phone line went dead.
Sarah heard some rustling and then a Big Bang came from downstairs, she grabbed herself tightly trying to calm down, what if he is still in this house? she thought to herself! How the hell am I going to get out? Sarah lowered herself slowly to the ground. She didn't take her eyes of the bedroom door but she was struggling to see through all her tears, suddenly she saw the blurred outline of a figure enter into the doorway and start walking towards her. She quickly tried to blink back the tears but it was too late, he had his hands gripped tightly to her arms.
"SARAH IT'S ME CALM DOWN" Oliver was shouting in Sarahs face.
Sarah looked up at Oliver, for the first time in many years she was so glad to see him, she wanted him to wrap his arm around her and never let go, she realised she couldn't do this without him.
"Right come on, were getting you out of here, we need to get you home" Oliver sounded overly concerned. He grabbed the note that Sarah was grasping onto and started to read, he then turned the note over. He looked at Sarah with sympathy.
"Wha...wha..what is it?" Sarah could barely get her words out, she felt like she was dosed up on morphine tablets.
"Just keep walking, I've got you!"Oliver sounded panicked, he had read something that Sarah had missed.
She was never alone, The back of the note read...
