The Man with no face

Chapter 12

The street was quiet, the leaves were brushing up against the pavement as they skidded down the road hitting up against each other. Sarah was still sitting on the floor, her hair waving in the air from the wind. She was still looking into the distance but there was no signs of life down there. The car was gone, she couldn't quite believe what had just happened, How could they take off with her like that? that is all she kept saying to herself over and over and over.

She looked behind her at her car, it was pointless getting in and driving after them they were long gone, She put her hands on her knees and made her way up off the ground. She walked towards the wall at the bottom of her Mother's driveway still looking down into the road, she couldn't face turning away because if she did it meant that Melody had really gone, she prayed silently that whoever was doing this had some kind of conscience and realised what they were doing was wrong, and brought Melody back to her. She knew that what she was praying for was useless, there was nobody up there listening to her prayers, she was all alone.

She perched herself on the edge of the wall, jumping up slightly when the cold hit her backside, she felt like her heart was about to stop pumping, she had nothing to live for if Melody wasn't in her life. Her parents had been murdered, her boyfriend was obviously murdered and only god knows what they are doing to Melody right now, and Sarah couldn't help but believe that this was all of her fault. She wished to go back in time, why didn't Louise tell me sooner? She thought. She felt anger, resentment and grief, she didn't realise that one person could have so many emotions twisting and twirling around inside of them, she felt like she was becoming sea sick and wanted to vomit everywhere.

DING DING

"OH FOR FUCK SAKE" Sarah shouted out, hearing her own voice echo in the dark freaked her out.

She had no energy for this anymore, she had no fight left. She wanted this to all be over and the only way to have that was to not be alive, whoever was doing this to her isn't going to stop until she's no longer breathing.

"JUST HURRY UP AND GET IT OVER WITH!" Sarah wasn't bothered about who heard her as long as he did!

DING DING

Sarah huffed, she knew he wasn't going to come out of the shadows because he had gotten what he wanted, her begging for her daughter back, he was watching her suffer just like he intended her too.

She turned the phone around so the screen was facing her, she didn't even look at the name above the message because she knew who it was going to be, of course! Unknown.

Unknown-

HAS ANYBODY EVER TOLD YOU TO NEVER LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN UNATTENDED?

DING DING

Another message popped up underneath.

READY FOR GAME NUMBER 2?

Sarah started typing as fast as she could, saying so many horrific, detailed things but before sending it she looked at the screen as a tear dropped from her eye, she knew she couldn't send it, this man had taken her life, her fingers and now her daughter, what else could he do to her? she needed to keep him on side, she needed to get into the head of her masked tormentor and she needed to fight for her daughters life.

Sarah quickly deleted all the words that she so badly wanted to say and started to type again.

Sarah - 

Im always ready.

DING DING

The message came through so quickly it was like he was sitting there watching his screen for her reply.

Unknown -

GOOD GIRL! THATS WHAT I LIKE TO HEAR, NOW.... DO YOU KNOW THE GAME HIDE AND SEEK?

Sarah laughed, she felt like a child again.

Sarah - 

Of course, ill go first you have 10 seconds to find me.

Sarah thought if she played him at his own game it would throw him off.

Unknown - 

OH DEAR, YOU HAVE IT ALL WRONG WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU BEFORE! YOU FOLLOW MY RULES, I THOUGHT YOU WOULD OF LEARNT BY NOW... DONT MAKE ME ANGRY! 

Sarah - 

So touchy aren't you!?

Sarah instantly regretted pressing send, if there was any chance of Melody still being alive she needed to abide by the rules.

HA! IVE HIDDEN TWO OBJECTS, ONE STARTS WITH A M AND ONE STARTS WITH AN O, IM GOING TO SEND YOU TWO LOCATIONS AND YOU GET TO PICK ONE, WHATEVER YOU FIND IS YOUR PRIZE! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

Sarah looked at the screen, M and O, he means Melody and Oliver she felt a wave of happiness and anxiety wash over her.

Sarah knew those addresses, fifth avenue was Louise's house and the Bushbury lane was where Melody's school was. Melody could be at any one of those places Sarah started to panic, she wasn't even thinking about Oliver but she needed to make sure she picked the right place to find Melody. She didn't know what could happen if she didn't.
