Birdsong's sleep was anything but restful. As soon as she closed her eyes she standing on highbranch next to Riverheart. She immediately knew she was dreaming because Riverheart didn't even notice her presence. Riverheart was definitely awake though. Birdsong looked up at silverpelt wondering if starclan had a message for her. Nothing. Birdsong sighed and followed Riverheart's gaze. Why is she staring at Sandclan's border? She wondered. Probably nothing. She told herself, but she wasn't convinced.

Then her dream changed. Birdsong was walking through the forest, but it wasn't her forest. She stopped next to a patch of ferns when she heard a loud screech overhead. Wide eyed, Birdsong looked upwards. Above her she saw a large hawk. On instinct she leapt for cover in the ferns. Glancing upward she saw the hawk begin to fly away. Just as the hawk disappeared from view a feather fell from its wing. Birdsong watched the feather spiral through the air and land directly on top of a fern.

Birdsong stared at the feather in confusion. She could tell this was a message from Starclan and that it was important but what does it mean? She wondered. A twig snapped behind her and she froze. Even though she was dreaming Birdsong still silently slipped into some nearby bushes realizing she was in a forest in her territory now. Peering through the leaves Birdsong saw Hawkwing creeping through the undergrowth. Birdsong was about to follow her when the dream changed again.

Riverheart and Rainwind were glaring at each other, claws flexing. Birdsong watched as a tiny kit sat between them looking back and forth between the as if trying to figure out who will spring first. Birdsong heard a yowl above her and looked up. "No!" She breathed. Brightstar had Hawkwing pinned against the trunk on highbranch. Birdsong desperately looked around for help to stop the four angry cats. She gasped. The whole clan was in the clearing, staring at the fighting and arguing cats, some claws unsheathed and bloody. The kit was staring up at her with pleading eyes. Birdsong started to back away the kit looked exactly like Riverheart except it had much shorter fur compared to Riverheart's fluffy pelt but other then that even the kits eyes were the same as hers.

Birdsong's paw hit the lake but something was wrong. Her paw sunk slowly in the red waters. Red? Blood! Too late. Birdsong let out a yowl of fear and protest as she started to sink in the oozing red liquid. The kit slowly walked over to her as she sunk and stepped towards the blood filled lake. "No, don't!" Birdsong cried choking.

The kit ignored her and put his paw in the lake. Just like that the lake started to clear. Birdsong could move again and immediately swam back up to the island. The kit looked up at her expectantly. "Uh, thanks." Birdsong mewed, shaking and embarrassed that she had to be saved by a kit. Nine leaves fell from the oak. No, not leaves, stars! Birdsong realized and they're falling from silverpelt!

The kit spoke as the stars circled him, his voice sounding like all of Starclan was speaking at once. "Too much blood will be spilled if Starclan's kit doesn't succeed."

"Who's Starclan's kit?" Birdsong asked. Is it you? She wanted to ask but kept that part silent.

"Starclan will send him when the clans need him most." The kit answered.

Birdsong woke in the medicine den panting. Hawkwing was standing over her. "Are you ok?" She asked, concern in her emerald eyes.

"Fine." She gasped. Remembering the vision of Brightstar pinning Hawkwing against the trunk on highbranch. "You?" She asked when she realized Hawkwing was holding a paw gingerly above the ground.

"Huh? Oh, I went out hunting last night and got a thorn in my pad. I could come back later if you're, uh,"

"No I'm fine." Birdsong said quickly. "Let me see your pad."

As Birdsong looked she began to wonder if Hawkwing really did just go hunting. Starclan wouldn't show her walking through there territory like that if she was just hunting. And what about the prophecy the kit gave her? Too much blood will be spilled if Starclan's kit doesn't succeed. I need to tell Brightstar. Birdsong decided. She got the thorn out and spat it on the ground. "It wasn't too deeply embedded, I think you'll be fine without herbs for now but let me look at it sometime after sunhigh." Birdsong instructed.

Hawkwing nodded. "Thanks, Birdsong." She purred while padding out of the den.

Now to Brightstar. Birdsong took a deep breath and padded out of her den.
