Evelyn

"Evelyn, dear? I need you to understand how dangerous this patient is." My boss explains to me.

"Abby, I understand. I really do, I'm careful with every single patient I've ever been assigned to." I sigh, my nerves causing me to shake my leg at a very fast rate.

Abby eyes me as if she knows I'm lying.

"Are you sure you want to take this patient? You know how manipulative he can be, he's gotten inside of so many other peoples head that's tried to help him." She gives me a worried look.

The truth is, I was extremely nervous about my new patient. But I didn't want her to know that, I did not want to come off bad.

"If you're so unsure of me having this patient, why did you ask me?" I tilt my head, running my hand through my long blonde hair.

"Because, Evelyn, you're one of our best here at the ward." She sighs loudly. "And this man needs serious help."

I stare at her, really questioning if I want to do this. She stares back just as harsh, her fingers tapping against her cherry wood desk. "So, what do you say?"

"I'll do it." I say, feeling a rush of adrenaline suddenly rush through my veins. I've never had a dangerous patient before so I'm really curious to see how this goes.

"Okay great!" She says. Abby opens one of her desk drawers and pulls out a thick file. "Here's everything you need to know about him, his personal information, medical files, you name it. And they'll be bringing him in later today." She says sliding the tan folder over to me.

"Thanks." I mumble, grabbing the folder before exiting her office.

I walk down to the break room where my coworkers who I don't really associate with converse amongst each other. I look for the only friend I really have here, Maddison.

"Evelyn!" I hear her squeal loudly. I smile as I see her sitting at a table by herself and I walk towards her taking the seat next to her.

"Hey Maddie." I say as she takes a sip from her water bottle.

"So, who's the new patient you were assigned?" She questions, picking through her fruit cup.

"I don't know, I haven't read it yet." I say placing the folder in front of me. "But apparently he's difficult."

"He?" She raises her brow at me. I only nod before returning my eyes back to the folder. I open it up and the first thing I see is a photo.

"Wow." I hear Maddie say from beside me. I stare down at the picture in my fingertips. Wow was right. He was extremely attractive. He had long curls cascading onto his wide and broad shoulders, his lips were frowning and pink, a very pretty pink. You could see some tattoos peaking through his white button up shirt that was only halfway buttoned.

"His name is Harry Edward Styles." I place the picture down to look through some other files that were placed in the folder. "Look, it says he's from Holmes Chapel." I say pointing to his home address. "He was born February 1st, 1994, so he's 25 now." I say as my eyes continue to scan the paperwork.

"What do his medical files say?" Maddie asked, being just as curious as I am.

I pull out the medical files and read them over. "It's says here that he's schizophrenic, and he's had a past of epileptic seizures."

"Huh, and you said he's apparently difficult?" She looks at me.

"Well Abby says that he's dangerous but she thinks that I might be able to help him and that's why she picked me for this patient." I sigh putting everything back in the folder before closing it up. "He's also manipulative and he's gotten into others heads." I say as my nerves begin to rise again.

"Really?" Her eyes widen. "Evelyn, you've gotta be careful, I've had patients like that and it can get really risky." She says looking me in my eyes.

"I know." I sigh looking down at the tan folder. "It'll be okay." I say trying to ease my anxiety.

"Aside from all that, he's so hot!" She gushes and I roll my eyes at her.

"Stop it, Maddie. He's my patient." I laugh at her words as she smirks at me.

"Maybe he'll give you a little action, eh?" She smirks nudging my side.

My eyes widen. "Oh my gosh! No! You're so annoying!" I say. "Stop talking about him like that." I scold her as I take a piece of fruit from her cup. She laughs at my scolding and we continue with conversation before lunch was over.

"I'll see you later." She says before walking out the doors. I follow moments later going the opposite direction she went.

"Evelyn! There you are!" Abby catches up to me. "I wanted to let you know your patient has arrived. Now are you sure you want to do this?" She asked once again.

"Yes, I'll be okay." I say, really wanting to do this.

"Okay, they've just brought him to his room, you'll be doing the sessions here. His mother is afraid he'll lash out if you do it from home." She explains as we walk down the corridors to his room.

"Is he like, staying here?" I question.

"Yes, for now. She says he's gotten worse." She frowns at the thought. "So hopefully, you're able to help him so he can go back home."

I suddenly feel a lot of pressure on me. It's up to me to get this man back home to his mother. "You can go in when you're ready, if you need help, press the emergency button by the door." She nods towards the door before turning on her feels and walking away.

I take a deep breath and stand before the door. I look through the window to get a peak at Harry. He's laying on his back, throwing a ball up in the air. His hair was sprawled across his pillow, he had a frown scratched into his face and his eyebrows were furrowed together as if he was deep in thought. I look down at the file in my hand before turning to open the door.

As I walked inside, he didn't even bother to acknowledge my presence. I can already tell he's going to be stubborn.

"Hello Harry." I sigh loudly trying to get him to focus. "My name is Evelyn, I'll be doing your sessions from now on, okay?"

He stops throwing the ball and finally looks over to be. His forrest green eyes stare into my chocolate brown ones, and I feel a shiver run in my spine.

"Hello Evelyn." He speaks low and slow, his accent deep and raspy. At least I got him to talk, he doesn't seem so bad so far. I sit in the chair next to his bed, his eyes still on me.

"How are we feeling today?" I question him.

He smirks up at me, a dimple appearing in his cheek. "We're doing just fine."
