Gathering up my confidence I run to my bicycle parked just outside the house. i had my heavy backpack in tow and I was as prepared as I could be for the mess of the day, I was sure to have. Susie was all packed and racing with me outside, a bagel in her mouth and three cups of coffee in her brown bag. She had her usual black dress and long blazer on, her iconic red lipstick and loads of snacks pouring out of her bag for the long day ahead. She jumped in her Nissan and sped off as I sat on my phone, not wanting to get to school too early. i took a good 5 minutes to reply to some emails, play some weird games and check up on my friends before I jumped onto my bike and rode off down the gravel road. Passing by all the houses in Barnsley I got to Margret's house and there she was in the garden, planting a new set of flowers all over the place. This time she was planting some yellow kind of daisy, her hands covered in dirt and water and her cute purple jumpsuit all clean and pristine protected by anapron she always used when she was in the garden. I kept riding by making sure to give a big wave and smile as I passed by. She gave aneven bigger smile and I was off. Out of my small town of Barnsley and into the big and scary Warrington. I kept riding past the grocery shop and even saw the little kids getting ready to go into class at the elementary school down the road. They all had oversized backpacks and their lunches in hand ready for the stressful day ahead at school. they had smile stretching from ear to ear and they waved as all the big trucks went by on the highway. I kept riding past at some speed because I didn't want to miss the morning announcements.
Finally, Warrington High School, where dreams are crushed, and lives are somewhat created. The school was this old brick building with new additions like the new stadium and basketball centre. But the central part of the school was in the brick building, which was rickety and old as can be. It had vines running all the way up it and cracks and smashes all up the walls. It had anabundance of trees and bushes thanks to my team;I was head of the environmental team and we planted trees almost every year all around the school and town to protect the nature. I was a big nature freak and I was proud about it. An addition to the new building was also the new greenhouse placed at the back of the football field, and it was glorious. It was this old and donated shed with glass panels all around the building, but inside was the magic, it had the best flowers and plants that were helping Warrington become a more sustainable town. You walked through the school and it smelt like a nursing home and your nans perfume all rolled into one mixture, and this smell was everywhere. I parked and locked my little bike on the bike stand out the front near the carpark and proceeded to lock it in so no thief would even try and steal it.
I yank off my helmet creating the worse bike hair I think I've ever seen; it was all full of leaves and twigs from passes so many low trees. I place my little yellow helmet right on top of my bicycle seat, securing at the bottom and chuck back on my backpack. I start walking up the billion flights of stairs that leads to the big brick building which we call Central Area, I have my phone in one hand and a mug filled with fresh lemonade in the other.
"hi Macey, how did the big geometry test go" I shout across the yard
Before I can hear her response, I bump into a rock-hard chest that felt like a brick wall.
"sorry, didn't see you there" I look up to see no other than Felix, looking down at me with a massive smirk. His usual long black jeans and corduroy vans were his go-to outfits in winter, paired with a grey hoodie and his usual long dark green almost black coat that went halfway down his leg. He had his beaten-up backpack and drink bottle in hand and was staring at me with the biggest blank face.
"Fe-feel-Felix" my voice was shaking, maybe from the cold or his harsh presence.
"El, viebeen worried" his face dropped from smirky to a saddened look.
